Another Great Craftsman Product
Instructions very clear on how to load staples, stapler is well balanced and well made. Item definitely lives up to Craftsman name.

EasyFire stapler nice, but instructions poor
I bought the EasyFire stapler/brad nailer as an alternative to my standard rear-drive manual staplers because I've always had trouble in tight spaces or with upholstery when the rear-drive models tend to kick. This Craftsman stapler takes a little getting use to, but it works and I don't get the kickback. The handle is comfortable, the weight distributed well. Haven't tried it with brads yet, but it has enough punch for light- and medium-duty stapling, even through heavy fabric into hardwood. But I found the Quick-Load Staple Chamber a bit difficult to open: you have to pull the cap out a bit before the spring pops it open. The instructions did NOT tell you how to open the chamber, but only showed a dark, grainy photo that was completely useless. If I hadn't had experience with other staplers, I would have given up in frustration and returned the product. I had a second opinion about the instructions from my spouse, whom I neglect to inform how to open the chamber: the stapler was thrown onto my workbench and the instructions were crumpled into a ball. For that reason, I downgraded the product to two stars for Performance. Come on, Craftsman -- English, French, and Spanish languages, and all of them equally bad! Shame on you.

Everything about this is a pain in the @ss
Its hard to load, hard to fire, and only fires a staple about every 100 times you try and that usually jams. Best I can tell is its not strong enough to break the individual staple apart from the rest in the column none the less go through what your trying to staple.

Stapler is worthless
I am also very disappointed in this Craftsman product. I purchased the Professional version after the plastic body of my original Easy Fire cracked. I am using it to drive 5/16" Monel staples into plywood and at least half need to be pulled and redone.

Professional Stapler that broke after only three uses
I owned this stapler for only a year and one month. During that time I only used it for three small jobs. On the third job the spring broke and it would no longer staple. I took it back to the Sears store thinking they'd replace it under their Craftsman lifetime guarantee. Not so. I was told at the store that guarantee only applies to hand tools and this is not a hand tool. I would like to know how a tool that is not electric and is only operated by hand is not a hand tool. Anyway it seems they only warantee it for one year and it was just over that period. I am very dissapointed in the quality of this tool and even more dissapointed in Sears failure to stand behind it.

Terrible quality and no thought in the design
This is a terrible Craftsman product. THere is no thought through the design process. The wire guide is an afterthought and it is a little scrap piece of sheetmetal stick to the side. There is a delay from the time the grip is closed until the staples fires. I am returning this. It is junk.

Craftsman Heavy Duty Easy Fire Stapler is great!
After many trips to the store, we finally found a good stapler. To load it, you have to pull the black tab at the bottom of the stapler down, away from the body of the stapler, and out, then follow the instructions for putting the staples in. The instructions skip that part, but it's pretty standard to all staplers... It's not easy to get it out, so pull hard. Once you get a feel for it, it gets easier. We used ten rows of staples for reupholstering dining chairs and it didn't jam once. Very happy with it! Puts the staples in deep and evenly, easy to pull.

Best Stapler You Can Buy!!!
This isn't a new stapler review. I've had this Craftsman Easy Fire staple gun for approx. 5 years now. It has worked great for everything from tacking down phone lines to hanging Christmas lights to reupholstering chairs. So far I haven't had any misfires or jams. The design where it puts pressure over the staple was only about 30 years overdue!!! Why didn't someone come up with this idea when I was using the old style Arrow staple guns all those years!?! Geat tool for a multitude of uses!
