Might be good for slicing cheese, not wood.
When I bought this the package had been taped up from a previous return - I should have taken that as a caution not to buy it. All I wanted to do was plane down roughly 1/16" of a 3/4" thick shelf to even it up. I adjusted the blade correctly, then went to do my first pass over. The blade dug into the wood and stopped, and my hand slid forward off the plane. Tried again several times with the same result. I got more aggressive with more pressure and this resulted in a bouncing jagged cut. So now, thanks to this gem, my shelf is not only too long but also grooved and scalloped. Thanks Stanley! Worthless for wood work. I'm relegating it to the kitchen so my wife can slice cheese and vegetables.
