Base, motor housing and end-shields made from cast iron, cast aluminum and steeel (depending on the model) CSA NRTL/C certified (except 3-phase units), OSHA compliant. For general purpose grinding, including sharpening, shaping, de-burring, stock removal and cleaning of rust and scale. Dust collection port and hoses. Large, cast aluminum tool rest tilt for angle grinding. Includes tool rest, spark arrestors, eyeshields, one 36 grit and one 60 grit grinding wheel, and 6 ft. (41.8m), 3-conductor power cord.

The Palmgren 82081 Bench Grinder is poorly made
The Palmgren 82081 bench grinder I received was fraught with problems. The most major was that the cast iron base was badly cracked. Also, one of the cast iron wheel guards was slightly cracked. I believe that if I had tried to use the grinder, and if it vibrated, the base would have shattered - thus, it was very dangerous. I also noticed that there were missing parts. The eyeshields were missing. One of the grinding wheels was out of round. And, some of the shield supports were untapped and would not accept bolts. My neighbor, a professional welder, commented that the cast iron should have been at least three times as thick, and he advised against even trying to repair the cracked cast iron. He also believed that the problems occurred at the time of manufacture, rather than during shipment. This suggests that there was little or no quality control. If you purchase this bench grinder, examine it very carefully before using it.
