Kenmore  Progressive Canister Vacuum Cleaner - White

I have spent close to a year trying to make up my mind what kind of vacuum I wanted. This one is a back up to my trusty and most terrific Kirby. But, who can afford 2 of them. I now have 3 finished levels, 4 kids and just dont have any more energy to be lugging ol Kirby up and down. So, finally I was at Sears and although I told the sales girl I would probably bring it back because I was disappointed with the fact that it is made of plastic. It doesnt seem to be made as well as I remember. The compartment that holds the bag doesnt open and close very easy. But, I need one now so I brought it home to try it out. I just finished my whole house and I cant wait to use it again. I am so excited about the attachment for doing stairs and cloth funiture, mattresses ect.....It did beautifully. This vacuum has great suction, I cant believe what it was picking up. Havent heard the Kirby swallow anything like this in awhile. SO, although it has only been a day...so far so good.

The wand on this product is really too short (I am 5'8") and when you try to use the floor brush on the occasional scattered rug the brush swivels up and therefore doesn't clean very well. I was much happier with a previous Sears vacuum; I would never recommend this poorly designed product to anyone! Also, I was able to clean the bristles on my previous Sears vacuum brush by suctioning it with the hose - this process doesn't work now and you need to pick off the dust and lint with your hand and then suction it up. I should have returned this vacuum but you only have 60 days to return it. I'm out of luck now.

I love this vacuum! It has great suction and is easy to use. I love the built in brush which makes cleaning ceiling fans easy.

the handle is too short,you have to bend over to do vaccuming???

It's as if the designers TRIED TOO HARD to add things to it it doesn't need, like the suction slide switch, the bulky wand head that makes it difficult to see if you are sucking up dust, etc. Too many buttons, wand too bulky.

We have 1 cat and 3 dogs in our house with solid flooring through out. We do have large area rugs and I needed something that could clean all the surfaces equally. This vac does the job!! Love the suction power and the ability to adjust it. It being 'self propelled' is a huge plus when doing the larger area rugs. The cord is a great length and allows me use two outlets to do our whole 2300 sq ft house. Only wish it had a longer handle or an extension rod to reach tops of shades/curtains or any surface higher up. On-board attachments are a very nice convince and allow for easier use.

For years I have used ONLY Kenmore Canister Vacuums. I use it EVERYDAY, having 7 children. There is nothing I can't do with it-carpet, floors, beds, curtains, furniture, lamp shades, ceilings, walls, the list goes on. I am fanatical about under beds and furniture too. You can't do that kind of cleaning with an upright. I'm not a fan of bag-less either as we do deal with allergies. So long as you keep your filters clean and change your bag periodically(for me that would be once a week) it will last a LONG time!

This is the third Kenmore cannister vac we've purchased. Consumer Reports says it's the best, and that couldn't be more true. The suction is incredible; the pet-mate attachment opened our eyes to how clean our car could be (and how disgusting it was before)! All vacuums have lots of plastic parts, but that's what keeps them from weighing 200 pounds. I drive my vacuum hard, and I've broken a few in my time. The third one I bought for a second home, not because my last one died. If you have different flooring throughout your home, you have to use a cannister vac, and the Kenmore is the best.

I replaced an older Progressive Canister with this one. It is half the machine that the older one was.

This is the 3rd Progressive Cannister I have owned over the years. Just get better!
