Kenmore  Canister Vacuum Cleaner

I looked around at a lot of vacuums. Dyson's were far to heavy, and there beater bar heads seemed huge. and too big to get well under my sofa. Plus way too expensive. This was on sale, inexpensive and has all the features I wanted. including a guide light, self-propulsion, cheap, large bags. It's easy to turn on, pick up and hold on to (I hate vacuuming, so I move fast) It so far seems to be doing a great job picking up all the litter my parrot loves to fling about. In a year, lets see how long it lasts...fingers crossed.

I have a 35 year old Kenmore Whispertone 5.1 canister vacuum sweeper that has been well used, and still going..I love that sweeper. BUT 35 years is a long time and I knew I really needed to replace it. Being we got such good service from this one I of course looked to Sears first thing to replace it. I went on line and read all the reviews on Sears products. This one was a perfect fit. Had almost all the features my old one had and, beside the "day glow orange" color, was the best choice.Instead of ordering it online I really wanted to see it "physically" first so we drove to the nearest store to check it out. It was -much- more expensive in the store. We spoke to the salesman and he said he could talk to the manager and see if we could get the online price (we had a print out with us) We did! Love this sweeper!!!! Light weight, easy to push and all the same past features I loved. Thank you Sears!! we love you. Never change this sweeper...EVER! :-)

I just used this vacuum for the 2nd time. It's just "OK". As far as working, it did a pretty good job of picking up. Quite hard to maneuver the canister. It doesn't follow you and doesn't corner at all. The attachments with brushes on them are very hard to clean. Now, for the clincher, when I opened to check the bag, as I cannot see the indicator light (very faint), the bag had broken open, and I had dirt all over the inside of the canister. And no, the bag was no where near full. It broke near the top. It will take me as long to clean this mess up as it did to vacuum the house. I feel it is to expensive for what it is and is cheaply made. I wouldn't make this choice again.

Used it for the first time yesterday and really liked the job it did on both my bare floors and also on my carpeting.

And I mean that literally! It does a great job of sucking up the dirt. And the great price made it even better! It's also fairly light weight, so carrying it up and down stairs is not a problem. Great vacuum cleaner.

This vacuum has alot of power and is quite light.

This vacuum has great suction and is easy to operate and put together. My 5 year old grandson put this together all by himself by looking at the pictures on the instructions. I love the fact that the on/off switch is on the handle and that the electric cord rewinds into the machine by pushing on the back of the vacuum with your foot. No bending! Changing the attachment is easy. Just push on the carpet attachment with your foot, pull on the handle and it releases. You can then add the hardwood/linoleum/tile attachment with one push of a button.

We bought this as a demo model about 8 months ago, and it is probably the best vacuum I have ever owned. It is small and light, works very well. The air is filtered extremely well, catching even very fine dust.

This one is so quiet, I was shocked. Didn't upset the cat or the grand daughter with loud noises like older ones! And picked up so much dirt from carpet I was amazed! Easy to assemble right out of the box, lots of great options for bare floor to different carpet levels. All contained in the unit, lightweight, easy to move around. Replaced the cheapy uprights I've used over the last two years (Bissel); wish I had just purchased this one from the start!

I had one many years ago and it lasted 25 years. I'm happy to purchase another.
