Dyson DC25 pretty impressive. February 09, 2011
I recently purchased the dyson ball DC25 and I love it. It picks up a ton of stuff from the floor and you realize how disgusting the carpet really was prior to using this vacuum. It's extremely maneuverable as you can get behind furniture and into places you normally wouldn't be able to with a standard vacuum. After collecting all the dirt and such, it's very easy to pop off the canister and dump out the contents. I ran it on tiled floor and it picked crumbs and other debris up without a problem. The cord is relatively short. I had to plug it in a couple times for a fairly large 2 bedroom condo. I think it's a little quieter than a normal vacuum. Sounds like a hand mixer. Sure the cost is fairly expensive but you get what you pay for. It looks very high tech and stylish and gets the job done. When I first used it, it looked and felt fragile however after repeated uses, it's evident that the vacuum is built with quality. Overall, I'm very pleased with the dyson ball and would recommend anyone buy it. I tried it out on my Dad's floor who has cats and a normal Kenmore vacuum and it was amazing what it picked up.

The product was great, but Sears just slapped a packing sticker on the Dyson box and shipped it like that. When the box arrived, it was crushed and beat up. Is it that much trouble and expense to put an outer shell box around the vacuum for shipping? My gift recipient even asked what happened to box. Very unprofessional shipping methods. Would not buy from Sears again for this reason.

I don't get the hype January 24, 2012

We got this model as a present for Christmas and after just 15 minutes of using it, I was packing it back for a return.
It probably works great in empty houses with square rooms but this is not real world.
All my comparisons are directly with a canister type of vacuum that I've used for years:
- You can't just go from an area next to the low seating couch to UNDER the couch. Too bulky.
- The extendable hose is designed to retract back but the problem is that it keeps pulling you back while you try to use it. Most of the time the actual vacuum is snapping back and hitting your feet. Plus, you have to keep twisting the hose to make it longer.
- The extendable hose doesn?t have any bristled attachments.
- The extendable hose can only be used upward (like corners of the wall to the ceiling). You can?t vacuum the top of the TV, for example, because it simply doesn?t bend that way. So the use is extremely limited. It?s like fighting with a long pole that?s attached to a rubber band with a vacuum at the end. I was shocked to see how bad it is.
- Canister vacuum has a button to automatically coil the power cable. You always have a control of how much cable you want out so it?s not in a way. Not here... just like 30 years ago!
- Plastic parts very flimsy.
Bottom line, I?m going to buy a new canister vacuum and never look at Dyson again in the same way.

Great suction,Maneuverable,Baglesswe were in need of a new vacuum. we went to Sears & hd to Dyson rep demonstrate this vacuum, however we also looked at other vacuums, but decided the Dyson would be an investment that we needed to make for a great vacuum. we have had the vacuum for a month or so & absolutely love it. we have been pleased with every aspect of it. It is so easy to use & maneuver. we use it on hard wood floor & carpet- the entire house. The ease of using the spin brush or not is an easy push button on the handle- love that! and the hose is located on the handle to pull out & sweep hard to reach areas, base boards, tv stands...so very easy to use! the attachments click on & off w/ ease. this vacuum was built for eas of the user- that is why I love it so dearly!! I use this vacuum every day on the hard wood floor- to sweep up dog hairs--our floor has never looked cleaner just by vacuuming. Also our carpet looked clean again when we used the vacuum the 1st time. guess our old vacuum was not sucking up the dirt. we are very happy we purchased our Dyson. love it love it.....I also recommended to my mother & she purchased one right after us & she is very pleased w/ hers as well.

While it had great suction, it was messy to dispose of the dirt out of the cannister, awkward to use the accessories, and was cheaply made -- it started breaking and falling apart after only three months use. We replaced it with a Bissel vacuum cleaner and put the Dyson in the trash.
