Hoover  Upright Self-Propelled Vacuum Cleaner

I previously bought one of these from you many years ago. Had great use of it up until things started to wear out. I tried to repair by getting parts from online vacuum parts, but there were no instructions on how to remove some of the more difficult parts. Bought this new one to replacde the old one, and it works just as well if not better then the old one ever did. Only complaint is the weight of it. I guess it is because the motor is more powerful. I have been purchasing Hoover vacuums for a long time. They are good vacuums. I like that this one is self-propelled. It has a hepa filter and traps dust and pollens. I have allergies and a dog.

Loud, awkward, hose is too short, clunky, heavy, attachments don't stay put, cord gets in the way. I wish I had never bought this.

Replaced similar model that was about 30 years old. That is no typo. 30 yrs ! I would have repaired it but could not find a parts source for a unit that old. The new one seems to be a bit more powerful and the self propelled feature works more smoothly. I like the extra filtering we did not have before. It handles lightly on hard floors even with the self propelled turned off. Also handles easily on carpet when propelled is on. The only thing I really miss is the self winding power cord on the old one. That feature still works perfectly even after all those years! Don't know why they changed. This cord is longer but it is more difficult to uncoil and re-coil. I would gladly sacrifice extra length for push button auto recoil. Old had two motor speeds, new only one but no big deal. We considered units costing two to three times as much but bought based on past experience with older version. Don't expect 30 yrs this time but so far so good.

Ease of use, suction, and apperance are very good. If it were bagless it would be excellent.

Cleans well. Bit noisy and self-propelled action a bit jerky until you have become used to it.

I recently had new carpeting put down throughout my house. The new carpet is thicker than my old one; and it was difficult to push my old vacuum cleaner over it. With this new Hoover "SELF-PROPELLED" its a breeze!!

We used to own a Kirby. I have a bad back, so I wanted a vacuum that propells somewhat. It's not too heavy, it doesn't seem to clean corners. I got the idea to buy this product from Consumer Reports. I am not blaming them, though.

I owned this same cleaner before and my ex took it with her. I did my research and purchased the same unit again, at a better price.
