The Kenmore 1.2 cu.ft. Countertop Microwave, Model 6912 is great
Was I ever surprised. For the price, this microwave works like magic. ( Now, you must temper this by the fact that I am over 65, so modern gagets amaze me at times.) You tell this oven that you want to reheat a dinner plate, hit start and it figures the time out by itself. It doesn't matter how much or how little, so far, it has come out the perfect temperature every time. I just love this thing. No more over cooked, dried out leftovers or keep adding minutes to get it hot enough. If it was all it did, I'd be pleased, but there is so much more. Cooking potatoes, same thing. And I was thinking of not buying another microwave after my last one caught fire. I was so disappointed in that one and it was a well known brand, too. You really need to check the model 6912, countertop Kenmore Microwave out for yourself, if you are planning to buy a new one. I'd sure buy it again.

Junk - Very poor quality control
Had to exchange two of them and on the third one gave up trying to procure one that was not dinged up with visual dents and/or scratches. Kept the third one anyway. I wanted sensor cook because I had good results with it on a different brand. The Kenmore sensor cook consistently over cooks items so that it is totally useless. So I gave up on using sensor coook. Then the door became difficult to open and now to won't latch shut but the warranty is expired. Total junk. Get the extended warranty. Or get something else.

This oven worked for 3-4 months before the turntable quit turning. I found on other websites owners who experienced the same problem. Until now, i thought highly of Kenmore but i am rethinking my opinion.

took it out of the box, put it into the shelf,plugged in started up and front plastic cover fell off! WTF!! I guess the 2 sided sticky tape that is suppose to hold it on wasn't quite so sticky! Put it back into place, we'll see if it stays there now!

I first reviewed this after a poor experience with a defective one I had purchased, and was so discouraged by the door opening button, that I gave it one star (poor). The button seems to work OK now. Although it stays in when I push it to open the door, it pops back out when the door is closed--so it's actually not a problem. The microwave does its job as expected. Nice and roomy, and I particularly like the little beep that reminds me that the food or drink I had heated up is still in there waiting for me to take it out. Also like the simplicity of timing 1 and 2 etc minute items: just press 1 or 2 etc

This item worked great for almost 3 months. Stopped heating part way through cycle but continued to run till end of event. Food half warm. Troubleshooting section of manual, Worthless. No info. about simular problem. Pulled plug let it cool and its ok. Troubleshooting says nothing about resetting oven or location of internal fuse. Easter Sunday, family get together, it again half cooked food could not reset after pulling plug. Wife mad ! Could not cook or warm up dinner. Took over an hour before it would cook. Problem is there is no warning that it stopped cooking. No change in sound, nothing. You have to check food part way through cooking or at the end of cycle to know if its cooking. Sears store said to return it and they would send it out to evaluate problem. May take 2 to 3 weeks without microwave, Crazy ? Other reviews have simular complaints. Over heats and stops cooking. Less than 1 star rating.

First problem with a Kenmore
Profoundly disappointing. Have only had it a few weeks and yesterday it stopped working in middle of heating up several items for dinner. Tonight it randomly started working again. Not sure if we just got a lemon, as we have had success with other Kenmore items, but this was a complete disappointment.

So far so good
This is replacing a26 year old GE so it's got a lot of new features that we haven't tried yet and probably won't use, but hey it's nice to have options. good because while you do have a lot of options you can also just put in the time, hit the start button and that's it!
