Great microwave at a great price!
We wanted a microwave that matched our new appliances when we remodeled our kitchen. The color scheme of this unit was perfect! It has plenty of room to cook just about anything and is very easy to use! The many quick touch features make this a must buy. You surely can't go wrong for the price and sticking with a name brand that has been time tested and proven like Kenmore.

Kenmore microwaves last just past warranty
Don't buy the Kenmore microwaves. My son purchased a new Kenmore over the stove stainless model which lasted just past the one year warranty then the control board burned up. I purchased a stainless counter top style just over a year ago and it also snapped, cracked, popped and burned up. These were just beyond the one year warranty! Our counter top model got used only to warm up left over food. We are retired and live alone. These were not bottom end appliances! Major appliances should last more than one year!!!

Kenmore Elite Tru Cook Micorwave
We purchased this microwave in March and by the middle of April it was making a crazy ticking noise at the start and end of each use. Very disappointed!! Wish I would have read more of the reviews prior to purchasing... Now I'm leary about buying Kenmore... used to be a name worth paying extra for, now I'm not sure...

I was SOOO disappointed
I had this microwave oven for 2 days and the tacky plastic front cover of the door fell off...it was held on with double stick tape!!!! WHERE DO THEY GET THESE THINGS?! I used to depend on Sears for things that lasted!

Quit working 4 months after warranty expired
This worked fine for 16 months, then it emitted a "burning insulation" smell for a day, then quit working. I opened up and found a scorched, melted connector leading from the capacitor. I think we're fortunate it didn't burst into flames.

Cooks great. No learning curve. Easy directions. However, as great as this cooks, there are 2 things that bug me about this microwave. The first thing is it's "feet". They hold it up off the counter but they don't keep it in one spot. When you push the door release or shut the door, you also scoot the microwave back. Suction cups would be nice or a lower durometer rubber on the feet. We solved the problem with non-skid rubber drawer liner. No more movement. The only other thing that bugs me about this is the color blue on the display. I know it's trivial, but I have all Kenmore Elite appliances in my kitchen, and the blue on this microwave doesn't match the blue display on my range.

Does what it needs to do
Powerful - heats food quickly and thoroughly. Good size with good size turntable. It is a bit loud. Opening and closing the door is noisey. Door opens by pushing a button. My old Kenmore had a handle to pull instead and I liked that better.
