Best Choice
I'm the Consumer Reports type person who likes to do research before buying anything and all evidence suggested this to be the best choice for a powerful, well-built and reliable steam cleaner. My experience has proven this to be correct. It works well with steady hot steam. It may not be the most powerful unit but for my needs and probably 95% of household user needs this works just fine. I would recommend this to anyone. To get the best deal, search the model number online and get a price match from Sears.

Bought the steam cleaner in hopes of easily cleaning grout, wheels and engines. Doesn't seem to remove wheel grease or engine grease very easily, still needed chemicals. Same with dirty grout, still needed 409 detergent, so probably didn't need steam at all. It did do a decent job on the tile, but already have a Shark for that. I'll still try to use it around house and garage but it's not as effective as I'd hoped. No cord, hose or larger attachment storage. Wheels around easily enough and has good water storage capacity.

works great!

i got it to steam clean our vintage couch as i didn't want to use chemicals on it....there was over 40 yrs worth of funk that came out of that couch in the form of steam! disgusting, but that means it's working! also used it to clean my oven as i can't breathe every time we try the self clean no matter how many fans we turn on or windows we open. worked great on the oven and oven racks...way better than trying to suffer through self clean! also used on our tile floors and grout, so far so good!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Not Impressed

I wanted to save and get a more expensive steam cleaner that has received rave reviews...I should have done just that. This cleaner is fine if you have very light cleaning to do. I needed something to clean tile grout and thought a steam cleaner would make light(er) work. With this steam cleaner, I was wrong. A lot of work went into getting the grout clean, and I'm still not satisfied with the results. I do not recommend this product for heavy cleaning. Pros -Easy to Use -Relatively Inexpensive Cons -Cheap plastic attachments that wore out after first use -Not enough pressure -Cannot refill unless completely cooled, thus interrupting your cleaning session. Steam lasts about 45 mins

Overall
cleaned my corvette engine

Used the mcCulloch Steam Cleaner MC1275 to clean my Corvette engine.  It took about 5 minutes to heat up, but maybe because I was using a 25 foot extension cord.  The steam cleaner cleans of 15 years of dirt and grease with no problem, but you have to use a rag to wipe off the wet greasy dirt.  Looks like the steam cleaner melts the grease with the high temperature steam.  Made the plastic injector rail cover look like new.  I still have stains on the aluminum intake manifold after my first try.  Seemed like the steam lasted about  an hour, but not sure.  The plastic tip brush that I used is now flat but it did its job.  I will try the wire brush tip that comes with the steamer on my next try.  I wish it had an extention long nose wire brush to get into the small hidden corners and crevases. Over all it did a good job of cleaning for the first go around on a engine with 185,000 miles of use.  For its size for that price I think that is good value and it is safe enough for home use.    It's hot steam so you need to be careful!

Only question is why does a guy need a steam mop attachment?  I would gladly trade my mop attachments for more accessory brushes.  Maybe one day I will use the steam mop attachment or maybe the better half will.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Does everything it claims and more

Just received the McCulloch 1275 yesterday morning.  Thought I'd give it a try as soon as it arrived.  HIGHLY addictive -- I became a steam cleaning fool and couldn't stop finding things to clean for 8 hours.  Worked great at removing close to 20 years of grease and grime built up in the teeny nooks and crannies of window tracks and the kitchen using nothing but powerful blasts of steam vapor -- no chemicals.  Grout looks almost new again.  Glass shower enclosures sparkle, as do my living room windows.  Quickly cleaned hardwood and tile floors.  Used it to clean walls and baseboards too.  Plenty of accessory brushes are provided but they don't last long.  The little plastic brushes bend completely out of shape almost immediately.  The instruction manual covers basic use but doesn't give hints as to how or what brushes to use for different tasks.  It would be nice if there were on-board storage for all of the different attachments.  Small and lightweight and appears to be well-built.  Eager to find new things to steam clean today.  Highly recommend!

Overall
The McCulloch is an overall good product for the house.

Like any appliance, the McCulloch Heavy Duty Steamer is one which you need to familiarize your self with how it works.

I like the most of the attachments for getting into small places and the grime you find there.

There were a couple of attachments which did not measure up due to their size, or as one failed upon first using it.

I did a pretty exhausive search of the internet and diferent consumer publications before purchasing the McCulloch, and must say that I am over all pleased with it's performance and price.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
