Purchased this dishwasher after 5 years of repairs on a GE Profile dishwasher. This dishwasher had great **************** reviews and had everything we wanted in a dishwasher. It cleans very well even when you put dishes in after just scraping them. Glasses come out without spots and residue inside. Dirty spatulas with caked on food come out clean, especially when loaded towards the back where theTurbo zone is located. This dishwasher has a lot of great options and really works well. It is a little pricey but after all the money spent on repairs on our other dishwasher, we expect it will be worth it. We did purchase a warranty on this product mainly because Sears backs their products.

I normally don't write reviews, but I had to write this to warn the rest of the consumers. We bought a Kenmore PRO dishwasher and after two years the heat element works 50% of the time only. Again, no warranty so it will cost us an arm and leg to replace it.
We also bought a Kenmore PRO side-by-side couple of years ago. After two years the water dispenser broke, $400 to replace it. Sears Service left us hanging on three occasions by not showing up for service and no phone calls, we took time away from work for nothing. No apology was offered, they only showed up the forth time around because we asked for our money back. Our ice machine is dispensing white plastic from the ice bin. When we reported this we were told warranty will not cover this and that we would have to replace the entire ice-bin.
We have decided to pull another year out of both the Kenmore PRO Refrigerator and Dishwasher and then replace them both with a Miele. We replaced our Kenmore front loader washing machine and dryer with a Miele and couldn't be happier.

We've had the model 665.1317 for over a year and it is the best dishwasher we've owned. The only thing I would add is a timer display to show how many minutes are left until completely finished and which cycle it is in.
We were willing to ante up a little on price in order to coordinate the Pro look for the kitchen of our new home. I had poured over **************** without finding any concrete data on this model, but there was support for the Kenmore brand. We've owned the dishwasher for 18 months, run it almost daily, and have had no problems. It is SO quiet we initially kept checking to make sure it was running. Quiet comes at the price of self cleaning, but it is quick and easy to rinse out the filter and well worth the trade off.
Any problems I've had with dishes not being clean are directly related to user error. I appreciate the ability to adjust racks, flip down tines, and move baskets. I use the Smart Wash setting most of the time, but I've used the top shelf only feature, the one hour wash, rinse only, and turbo zone on occasion. All performed as expected. At this point, we have no regrets about this dishwasher. We love it!
PracticalI would definitely purchase this machine again. in December 2010 we replaced the GE DW from 1987, original to the house, just because we wanted a newer, more efficient DW. The quietness is unbelievable. I do walk over to be sure it's running sometimes. The old DW was so loud you couldn't talk while it was running.
Love the adjustable hi/low top rack & all of the flip down/flip up tines. Makes it easy to fit anything in it. 4 silverware baskets. Very few problems with food particles attached to an item at the end of a cycle. If there are, I chalk it up to a nearby item blocking the water jet from hitting it properly. I would not put a dirty peanut butter knife into the DW and expect it to come out clean. Come on. Really? You're gonna complain about that? Have used the top rack clean also and it works like a charm. I started out rinsing everything, more habit than anything else, but have become much more lax about that, now that I'm a believer in this machine's cleaning ability.
It does have a longer cycle, but I don't stand there eagerly awaiting the cycle to end. I get to it in a few hours. Most loads are damp when I open it immediately at the end of the cycle. If so, I just let it air dry for awhile. Dab the puddles off of the coffee cup bottoms and come back later. I think that's my part of "being green!" Definitely using the JetDry makes a difference, and the level indicator is handy.
I'm not a fan of the outside handle. Very industrial looking. I would have preferred something graceful, with a curve and more style to it. But that's cosmetic, and wasn't something I didn't already know going in to the purchase. It's a great machine, we've been using 4 to 5 times per week for the past 7 months.
PracticalWe purchased this dishwasher around Labor Day 2010 and had it installed by my contractor. One of the first things I noticed was a tine on the lower rack was somewhat bent at an odd and opposite angle to the rest of the tines on the rack. I couldn't tell if this was a design feature of the rack or if it served any special purpose. However, if it is an imperfection or "damage," it is negligible to me, and I haven't noticed if it impedes the cleaning process.
Operationally, the dishwasher works fine. I read these reviews going in and expected a somewhat temperamental machine, so I was careful to scrape dishes clean and occassionally handwash items as needed before placing it in the machine. I also practice cleaning out the cylinder filter at the inside base of the washer occassionally to check for large particles and have never found anyting of note.
Two incidents have come up which made me take notice. The stainless steel skin under the detergent dispenser developed a white trail of film which built up after a the break-in period. I attribute this to the liquid detergent I was using, and the probable lack of a rinse-aid. I have since switched to a tablet detergent with built-in rinse aid and noticed the film has stopped growing. And then at one point, the dishwasher mysteriously lost power for a few days. A Sears technician checked it out but could not find any problems after pulling the unit out and checking the wiring and install. He re-installed it, and the unit has worked fine ever since.
To echo the other observations, the unit is extremely quiet, but it does have longer wash cycles, probably due to the energy/water efficiency modes. However, because of this feature, this unit did qualify in my city for an additional residential water rebate. Dishes are almost completely clean each time, though there are occassionally crustier particles that may cling on stubbornly. The design is sleek and attractive. I'm told this unit is basically a Kenmore branded Electrolux washer. And of course, it is very quiet as advertised. This Kenmore replaced a GE builder grade dishwasher that came with the house.
