    Kenmore Elite Dishwasher cleans well, but not as quiet. April 05, 2011

    I've only had this dishwasher for a couple of weeks now, so it's too early to see if it will burn up its control panel as did my last dishwasher, which was a Kitchen Aid highly recommended dishwasher that only lasted two years. Both products were made by Whirlpool. We really didn't want to buy another Whirlpool-made product, but after a lot of research, most dishwasher brands made in the past few years have done poorly. It was very hard to find a model that didn't have problems. We were unable to find a bad review about this Kenmore model, and I hope I don't have to write a bad review for it any time soon. This model is louder than my old Kitchen Aid, but it isn't too bad. We had the Sears sub-contractor install it. We also rinse our dishes before loading them. We remodeled our kitchen two years ago and purchased new high-end Kitchen Aid appliances. Dishwasher broke after two years, and double oven has had its control panel replaced once and its thermostat replaced twice...in less than a year and a half. Very frustrating!

    WARNING crevice on top panel catches debris/dirt April 24, 2011

    i just got my dishwasher installed yesterday. i haven't even run it yet, but am already unhappy with the gap/crevice on the top of the door where the control panel is. it will require a crevice tool to clean (or my fingernail) every time you touch the door to open. lint and debris are always going to catch in it.

    This built-in dishwasher with ultra-wash system is so powerful that everyone should own one. There is no other dishwasher that is better than this item.

    I like the hidden controls. I love that I can lower and raise glass rack for wine glasses. It is quiet and washes wonderfully.

    acceptable wash but does not dry at all salesperson at Sears has not offered a reasonable solution and was difficult to work with

    I have had this dishwasher for over a year and am happy with it overall. It is quiet but could be annoying if you run it while in the same room. It takes 1.5 hours to wash a load. I use the same smart wash setting with no heat all the time so the controls on the top are perfect for me. I just push the power button or the cancel button when it is done to shut the "clean" light off. It cleans well with minimal detergent. I use a cheap rinse agent and that seems to leave my dishes spotless.
