Kenmore Elite Dishwasher cleans dishes very well December 21, 2010
We purchased this dishwasher to replace a Kenmore we bought about 8+ years ago. We have been using it for a couple weeks now and are very pleased with its performance. It cleans the dishes very well and is much quieter than our previous dishwasher. We are looking forward to many years of clean dishes. The only down side is the installation. With our previous Kenmore all the hookups were right in front immediately behind the lower panel. With this dishwasher the water supply hookup is several inches in from the front. I am a tall guy and had difficulty getting down low enough to see what I was doing and then could really only one hand back in to do what I needed to do. But now that the installation is behind me I am enjoying the clean dishes!

Does not clean November 08, 2010
I just moved into my house and this was the dishwasher that was here. It does not clean! I take things out and they are still dirty. I should not have to scrub my dishes before putting them into the dishwasher. Also, the cycles are much, much too long. I am going to replace it as soon as possible.

It does not clean,Plastic rack clip brokeThe only reason I replaced my former Kenmore was because the non-nylon racks were rusting through. Now, I wish I had kept it because it was the best dishwasher I have ever owned.
This model has the capacity for tall items to be placed in both lower/upper racks; very handy. The plastic clips that hold the fold-down tine racks are flimsy; one has already broken in only one year. The dispenser cup latch seems flimsy so I am concerned about it also failing prematurely. My model is actually #1348; I cannot find it in the listings but this one is similar. The cleaning is so bad I am forced to purchase the expensive Finish Powerball detergent. Kroger-brand powder worked just fine in my old dishwasher. Maybe the water conservation aspect has been overdone at the expense of superior washing. Except for the loading capacity, I am disappointed in this model compared to my very old previous Kenmore.

Cons:
It does not clean,Floods Kitchen.I HATE this dish washer It never really worked right. I should have returned it. It does not clean the dishes.. If the waters not hot enough the clean light starts to blink and will not start unless you call the repair man or push in a secret code.. Ours broke and flooded the kitchen now we have to replace the floor. This dishwasher stinks I wouldn't waste my money on it. I will not be buying another dishwasher form Sears.

Pros:
cleans as expected.,easy to install,good energy star ratingIt looks expensive but it is not. It is very quiet. It takes however VERY long to finish a wash but I think that is the reason why it only utilizes 4 1/2 gallons of water to wash a load. I am very happy with the purchase. Only got it for one week.

After 2 months and little use I had to return it. It stopped working, Sears' trchnician said that the problem was that the control panel got wet inside and he needed to order a new panel. A dish washer is supposed to be in contact with water, if the sealing of the control panel was not good enough to keep water out I did not want the product. I returned and exchanged for a different brand. It is a shame that we had to change brands as we wre happy for 10 years with theKenmore we had before we bought this one.
