Kenmore Elite  24'' Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel  ENERGY STAR®

After 2 years I had to replace rack parts no big deal. 4 years in I have had to replace the heating element, BOTH computer control modues ($160.00 each) door seals are bad, dish detergent dispnser replaced. all told in replacement parts alone I have spent over $500.00. If you buy this dishwasrher make sure you buy a T16 Torx screwdriver and set up a cleaning schedule. 20 pieces of corn and a piece of lettuce will prevent ANYTHING from getting cleaned, once you buy this hunk of junk and clean it one time you will see why. I am more than willing to produce any proof requested. Google kenmore elite not .... heating, flashing green lights, not cleaning.. when you get to the forums just look at the amount of hits those forums get it will give you a good idea that I am not the exception but the norm! 2 good reviews from this year well let's hope they return with their reports in a few years.

Purchased this dishwasher almost 1 year ago along with a complete upgrade of all kitchen appliances . During this time had two service calls; first where a .50 cent clamp came off on the drain side of the pump lucky the dishwasher was smart enough to stop the water and shut everything down or would have flooded the kitchen, 2nd service call now in the middle of, control panel quit working $346 part plus labor over $500 total. Still waiting 1 week for part and tech guy to install. Overall very quite and cleans very well but reliability questionable, out of warranty this week. Would not buy this product again with history. 40 years of home ownership and this is the first time ever having problems with a high end appliance.

Bought this dishwasher as recommended by the salesman to save money since it is last year's model. Replacing a Fridgidaire that was about 10 years old. We have had it for about a month, and love it. Gets dishes sparking clean and 95% dry. We typically rinse before we load the washer so we do not require heavy soiled cleaning - but I would say moderately soiled. Highly recommend this product. We chose Kenmore over others due to heated dry, sanitary cycle, and cleaning reviews. And it delivers on all levels. Only two negatives I have with the process up to this point are 1) the jet dry cap is finicky to get closed and if not closed well it will fall out and melt to the heating element and is about $20 to replace; 2) the Sears' installation fee is high compared to other stores.

To start with we replaced a 11yr old portable Kenmore with this "Elite" because the old one wasnt cleaning well anymore due to our hard water. This one did not clean any better. We put in a water softener only to find out, that nope the machine is just a piece of crud. We've rinsed all dishes for a year, and if there is any food left on them, they still come out of the machine dirty. Now 13 months later the unit is broken and flashing an error code. We researched before the purchase but now I see in the last year there are tons of negative reviews here about this product. Run, do not walk away from this POS. It wont clean and evidently it WILL break.

I wonder if anyone from Sears/Kenmore actually reads these reviews. I purchased this dishwasher 1-2 years ago, and have had problems ever since I got it. No matter which cycle I try, food is typically still on the dishes after it completes. The soap film is also always there, no matter which cleaning products I use. Most of the time dishes come out filled with water after the heated dry cycle, and it typically ends up on the kitchen floor. The bottom rack always comes out of the track. I got fed up after the rack came out of the track and dishes smashed today, so I decided to call Sears Customer Service. My dishwasher is out of warranty, but they can offer me a "great deal" - for $250 I can get a protection plan to have someone come out and look at it, and if it's defective I can get up to $500 for a new dishwasher. What a joke - I paid over $800 for an Elite expecting it to be good quality. I'll never buy Kenmore again.

This dishwasher worked great for a little over a week...then it displayed an error code. We have the Master Protection agreement, so I called for service as instructed by the display. The agent said it would be almost three weeks before a technician could come. We are returning it and do not plan to purchase any Kenmore appliances in the future despite the fact that we love working with our local Hometown Sears manager.

This is a really nice looking unit. The touch buttons are on the top so they don't show. It has a 4 hour delay to run when rates are lower. Extremely energy efficient and so quiet you can't even tell it is running. This is a great product.

bought this dishwasher on 5/30/2010 and now on 5/21/2013 it no longer works for the money I spent I am so disappointed! I will say it gave 3 great years! I won't buy another Kenmore!

Previous dishwasher was white, the stainless steel with the controls on top of the door looks clean and streamlined. The other dishwasher was quite noisy, this one can hardly be heard. Seems to do a fine job of cleaning dishes but so far have only run it 2 or 3 times. My wife loves it.

It does not clean well!!! This is supposed to be a water efficient dishwasher. Whatever water it saves, I use to rinse dishes before putting them in and clean them when they come out dirty.
