    Kenmore Elite dishwasher is the best I've ever had! April 25, 2011

    I've had my eye on this dishwasher for a very long time. I finally decided a month ago to buy it and I am so glad I did. This thing works great. I love to challenge it to see what it will clean from the kids dried stuck-on cereal bowls to the dreaded peanut butter knife! There is nothing it won't clean so far. It is so quiet that I still walk over and check to see if it's running every day. All I want out of an appliance is for it to WORK. This one does.

    Very unhappy, pump went out after only 4 months January 06, 2011

    We previously owned a Frigidaire dishwasher for about 4 years and it repeatedly broke down and leaked most of the time we owned it. So we purchased this Kenmore Elite dishwasher to REPLACE and UPGRADE that Frigidaire in October 2010. Happy New Year! Saturday, January 1st - the dishwasher stopped draining. The repairman just left our house and said the pump went out and we need a new one. He also said we shouldn't have purchased a Kenmore. Why is it so difficult to find a quality appliance that works properly and lasts more than a few months without breaking down?

    Just had to make a service call. Onle14 months old so it is not coverd. Now I have to pay 230.00 for a service agreement. I spent over 10k on ken ore elite appliance and have had to make calls on all but one. Stay away. The brand is not what it was. Over priced garbage.

    Chose this for the turbo zone and quiet operation. Installed just two days after ordering online on a weekend. I put two day old crusted oatmeal bowls over the turbo zone and they came out shiny and spotless! It is so quiet to. The installer said this was the best you can get and I believe him. Obviously this is a new machine so will see if it holds up but awesome cleaning so far!!!

    Based purely on the way it cleans, and its virtually silent operation, this would easily earn a full 5 star rating. A few design quirks with the controls and the unknown reliability (mine is only a month old) keep it from a perfect score. All controls are hidden on top which adds to the stylish looks of the front. They are all touchpad controls, and once you pick the cycle and wash options you like, you press the start botton and have 3 seconds to close the door and the cycle will begin. I wish I would have known that all options could be chosen (including START) with the door open, because I would have adjusted the height of the unit so that the touch pad controls were almost flush with the countertop above it. As it is now I left a gap just big enough to get my finger in so that I could press START with the door fully closed. This issue is not too difficult to remedy, but would require taking the unit at least partially out and re-installing it after making the necessary height adjustments. One other small and rather annoying (but not a deal breaker) issue; when unloading the dishwasher, the hidden touchpad controls on the door are very easily to accidentallly bump with your shin or pant leg and they are VERY sensitive, requiring you to hit cancel or reset when the door is closed again or it will begin whatever cycle your leg accidentally assigned it to run.

    This is the most awesome dish washer i've ever owned... it is so quiet and cleans disher better than any other dishwasher I've ownedl I had to tell my son to turn the tv down I couldn't hear the dishwasher running. I would recommend this dishwasher to anyone who has had to wait to go to bed to wash their dishes.
