    Knmr Elite 1404 dshwshr is quiet; cleans and dries subperbly. December 22, 2010

    The Kenmore Elite 14043 dishwasher is beautifully designed, very sleek. The display is easy to use and uncomplicated. The dishwasher is extremely quiet. It cleans the dishes and they are dry at the end of the cycle. I am very pleased with this dishwasher. Sears provided great service from the salesperson to the installation crew.

    The kenmore elite dishwasher is very quiet May 25, 2011

    I purchased my dishwasher on 10/8/10. My first repair was 11/13/10 and they replaced the unit. Worked good until April 2011 water would not drain and dished didn't dry, they ordered a new water pump and came back and installed it. Next problem is the controls you do have to open the door to get the lcd to light up and now the controls dont work. The installer took me the part is on national back order with no Estimated Time of Arrival. Sears needs to go back to the drawing board on this one.

    Purchased for a family xmas present and this dishwasher is great. Replacing an old Maytag so comparing very old technology but this unit is leaps and bounds better in terms of features, usability, construction, etc. The touch screen is great, and I'm happy that I splurged for it. It makes doing the dishes like using an iPod-which has helped encourage more people in the house to actually do them! The construction is top notch, with stainless everything and the front is the most minimal front I've seen with just a multi-color display light at the top that shows the dishwashing progress (blue for washing, red for drying, green for done). The bottom portion of the touchscreen shows the progress with colors and text as well with the door closed when looking from above. Everything has come out clean so far and we used it for the holiday dish deluge. There is a filter that you must manually clean, but it's very easy to do it periodically (mushrooms especially we found don't seem to dissolve very easily). This extra large interior also lets you put in larger stuff and more stuff overall vs. the older "standard" size. The 360 wash sure looks cool but I think it is more than a gimic as I'm sure it helps with cleaning. You do have to be a little more purposeful when loading to put the stuff you want washed more from all sides towards the back where the powerwash nozzles are. I got the 5 yr. in home warranty so I'm not too worried about durability but the construction looked top notch and the stainless steel makes it about 2x heavier than our old one. Extremely quiet. I'm also happier with the top rack sprayer on the bottom of the top rack shooting up as opposed to our old dishwasher that had the top sprayer mounted to the top of the dishwasher where we constantly had to be careful of hitting it with taller glasses and bowls. Overall very happy with the product. The in-store purchase experience was a different story . . .

    The plastic wheels on the racks break often. The entire rack panel needs to be replaced to fix a single broken wheels. In less than 14 months 4 wheels have broken, The control panel also broke....It has only taken Sears 2 weeks to order the part after taken over a week to show up. Would NEVER buy another Kemmore appliance..ever. TThe poor dishwasher it replaced never needed a single repair in the 10 years I owned it...I miss it so now

    Was amazed at how silent this unit was as it ran its initial calibration cycle, ran one load of dishes through after that and remained equally amazed at how clean they were; then the 2nd time I tried to use it the display flashed like there was a short in it or something, 3 service visits (and 4 weeks without a dishwasher), it's still not working. They now know what the issue is, but it'll be another 2 weeks before they can get the part and put it in.
