Great product at a great price!!
I was a litte nervous about purchasing a product that wasnt rated yet, but Im glad I took the risk. Installation was a bit of a pain in the butt only because I had an old kitchen aid model and the hookups were different, plus sears sold me the wrong installation kit. But once it was finally in, my dishes have never been cleaner. I really like the sanitize feature. It is alot more quiet than my last dishwasher. The dryer could be bit better, dishes are not completley dried at the end of the cycle, but Im still very happy with it overall.

Don't buy this if you use stemware
The top basket of this machine does not allow enough height for stemware with the exception of very short stems. I made the mistake of assuming that today all new dishwashers would take stemmed glasses. At least they could have provided a device for the lower level to hold the stems.

I don't have any complaints about this dishwasher, it seems to be really well made. One suggestion, the selection lights on the front are really small and the print is not lit up so it's really hard to see.

Not as good as the old Maytag
I purchased this dishwasher (MDB4709PAW) last week. It was to replace my old Maytag which was almost 14 years old. The sound level is about the same as the old one, fairly quiet. The capacity seems smaller, maybe because of the big cutlery holder. I took it out and put in my old one which is half the size, which gives me more room for pans in the lower rack. The upper rack is very close to the top and will not hold a stem glass nor a regular cereal bowl without the top sprayer hitting it. The user manual says the upper rack holds a 9" plate which is totally incorrect. I am not very happy with the machine for this reason, the racks seem to hold less than my old dishwasher and the upper rack will only hold very small items.This so called energy saver takes 1-1/2 hours to do a normal load. My old machine took 45 minutes. If you use the heated dry feature, it takes a lot longer so I do not use it. I found that if I open the door a little, after the clean light comes on, the dishes dry with the heat left in the dishwasher much faster

Excellent Value does what it is supposed to do.
We have hard (very hard) water and can not install a water conditioner. We have to replace dishwashers about every three or four years. This is the best we have had so far. Perhaps I am old fashioned but dishwashers should wash dishes This one does.

Product performs well.
I've only had the dishwasher a few weeks, but the overall performance appears good. The continuous starting and stopping during the initial cycle is annoying, and the knob free control buttons are difficult to press. Installation replacing my old unit was not difficult. So far I am happy with my purchase, but it will take a while to ascertain its durability.

This product does not remove stuck on food, does not properly dry dishs, cups or silverware. Any possible energy savings are offset by the necessity of opening the door as soon as the cycle has finished and allowing the heat into the room, where the air conditioning must work harder to maintain household temperature.
