Cooktop was exactly as pictured. Installation was a breeze. The only two difficulties I came across were I had to enlarge the hole in my countertop (not a biggie, I have a craftsman jig saw) and the installation instructions were not chronological. You have to flip back and forth to install the cooktop. Not a real big deal, but an area for improvement. For the money, this cooktop gives you the best bang for your buck. Cooked pancakes on it this morning, my wife and I are very pleased. I cannot comment on durability, I only installed it a few days ago. Seems like a well built unit.
