Able to keep my current layout with this kitechen aid cooktop.
I was careful to look for a cooktop that was wired for electric and featured a vent. With these two features, I am able to keep the current kitchen configuration. This will help keep our costs low for a kitchen remodel.
The KitchenAid cooktop is easy to clean and fits in well with our kitchen design.

The KitchenAid 30 in elctric downdraft cooktop has problem vent
The cooktop looks great and the burners cook very well. However the downdraft vent is terrible. It is very noisy and vibrates. The noise is from the vibration and is very loud and you can even feel the vibration by holding a fry pan handle that is cooking. Completely unacceptable. Had Sears replace the motor and fan and still is noisy and vibrates. Called KitchenAid and they are sending someone to see what the problem is. Hope they can fix it as we like the cooktop except for the vent.
