    The Kenmore wall oven works great and got it for a great price November 13, 2010

    I love my new oven.  I've had it for a couple weeks and it was easy to install, works great and looks great.  I always thought replacing my kitchen's original wall oven was going to cost an arm and a leg, but this wall oven has changed my opinion. 

    The light for the oven DOES come on when you open it.  It also has a switch so you can turn on the light even without the door open.  I don't broil so I can't speak to that function.  The lower drawer holds pans, etc.  The only negative is that it is a bit smaller inside than my old oven probably due to better insulation.  One of my pans doesn't fit but the rest of them do.  It's a small negative compared to the value and looks I got for this replacement.

    Not as described December 10, 2008

    I thought i was getting an oven with a broiler in the top part of the oven as was stated on the "specs". Boy did I get fooled!! The broiler (very narrow) is a separate compartment on the bottom below the oven! Also the oven light only comes on when you flip the switch...Don't be fooled by the description as I was!

    We bought this oven to replace a similar model. We were expecting family to celebrate thanksgiving last year and the previous oven broke. This new one was put to the test cocking the two turkeys, pays, cakes, and a flan. A reliable and trustworthy wall oven.

    I got this oven less than two months ago, and I've had great luck with it. My only complaints are the size of the oven, so we can't use our old cookie sheets and had to buy new ones; and the timer buzzer is just not loud enough for me...I can't hear it from the other rooms of my house, so I've almost overcooked stuff. I just use my old wind-up buzzer which I have no problems hearing. I've had no other problems.

    Hazard is not detected until wall oven is installed.  The broiler door is a burn hazard to children.  This door can be easily opened with a few grams of force.  Placing a heavy dish towel on the handle can open the broiler  door exposing the hot broiler compartment gas flame.  The spring used to on the door is too weak and should be replaced or some internal latch placed on the broiler door that can only be accessed from inside the door.  If I had kids, I would duck tape the broiler door until I could resolve this problem with Sears.

     

    The wall oven is very difficult to install.  The gas inlet is located in the right rear corner of the bottom of the oven and is virtually inaccessable.  This was the only model I looked at that did not include  drawings in the installation guide on the internet showing how to hook up the gas line.

    The installation demensions are not accurate with respect to the gas inlet.  The drawings show a 7 inch (R to L) offset when the gas outlet is really 3.5 inches from the right.

    I've had this oven for about 3 years. I've had no problems what so ever. I've checked it with an oven thermometer and it's always been accurate. The only draw back is it is not self cleaning. I would have liked to get the self cleaning oven, but it was several hundred dollars more.
