Looks like a range costing hundreds more!
This range is a great looking appliance that we think is a good value relative to similar ranges by others. It cooks, bakes, keeps food warm and does everything very well. The range top is easy to clean and the burners can go right into the dishwasher when necessary, as can the knobs. The oven is operated with an electronic touch pad located between the burner knobs which we found easy to learn to operate. Having said all of that, I should mention that we had an issue with the gap between the bottom edge of the oven door and top edge of the storage drawer. The gap widened from the left side to the right and was very noticeable. The service tech ordered a new drawer box and drawer face and then replaced the original drawer once the parts arrived (a process that took about a week). This resolved the issue and now are very pleased with the Kenmore gas range. I should also mention that the range top OVERLAPS the adjacent countertop on either side of the range top while the control panel is cut out to mate with countertop front edge. If you have a countertop with a thickened front edge (spillproof), some alteration of your countertop will be necessary in order for the range to fit into the space properly. As we said earlier, we're very pleased with this range in the month that we've owned it. It looks like a range costing hundreds more!

Don't buy this range
If you like or need to cook, don't buy this range. It's next to impossible to keep clean. The design having knobs facing upward instead of facing outward is totally stupid, plus having stainless that constantly gets spotted. I have it less than two years and had to have the black porcelain top replaced since the porcelain burned off around jets...plus the stainless grid replace where knobs sit... if you don't have cosmetic insurance coverage, be prepaid to pay! This stove is good looking... that's about it!

Best Deal for a Slide-In
Probably the least expensive slide-in gas range on the market. Overall it?s fine, no issues as of yet. I like that it is not over engineered, so hopefully it will last a long time. Did find the fan that blows internally (not a convection) between the top of the oven and cooktop a little weird. It blows on your waist while you're cooking, though it's not hot or the oven exhaust. According to the manual it is designed to keep certain components cool; most likely the front display and electronics. One big negative in the bottom drawer; very cheap feeling and easily bendable.

One problem after another, from poor factory calibration to poor quality to the annoying cold air blowing out that another reviewer mentioned. It would be hard to like a product less. Also, the problems make me feel unsafe.

Purchased this range along with three other appliances from Sears in September 2012. I wanted to use the stove a bit before giving a good review. Since we were remodeling our kitchen, I wanted a slide in model. This stove fit the bill. We originally bought this in the "scratch and dent" department and got a great price on it. The problem came when the kitchen remodelers installed it........long story short, because of the install the stove caught on fire. This has nothing to do with the integrity of this model. After talking with a few people from Sears they agreed to give us a replacement with no extra cost to us. This model is pretty much a no frills range, except it is self cleaning and has a Warm and Hold feature.....I haven't used that yet. It is very similar to the Frigidaire that I bought two years ago. I love the looks of it and it works very well. I bought this in the stainless with black top.

air blowing from the door?
The gas range is fine, but the oven... I have no idea why a non -convection oven blows air from the top of the front door, and the fan keeps on going for quite a while after the oven has been turned off (it also make a noticeable noise). If you are standing there cooking while the oven is on, the air will blow on your tummy and up on your face... I really do not like this and I am seriously thinking of returning/ exchanging it. I hope Kenmore will change this very unpleasant feature.

FIRE HAZZARD!!!!
We purchased this oven in July and we have had Sears out to our home twice to replace the electonic contrrol panel. Since the replacement I've had to call again because the oven has turned on by itself at 350 degrees. While we were sleeping. I would not recommend this product.

I wish I would have read the reviews sooner.... its not even in yet and I can see how cheap the stove is...... NO sides... I know its a slide in but come on!!!!! the draw is just a piece of thin tin ....... and the grates on top scratch right away.......... ITs JUNK..
