no problems
I put this cook top in better than 6 months ago. We have used it extensively for many family dinner parties. 2 very large pots & 2 medium pots at once, no over loading cracks or problems. Heats quick. The real beauty is the clean up, it still looks new.

I had looked forward to using a glass top cooktop, but am terribly disappointed. This cooktop is so hard to adjust desired cooking temps... the burners are sooooo slow to heat up, simmer does not work, dual top burner not useful. And I am not spending the rest of my life cleaning this thing after each use. Will be replaced as soon as can find coil unit that fits opening. Sorry.
I have used Kenmore all my life and this is first appliance that has been a true disappointment.

Don't buy this unit.
I search for a long time before purchasing this cooktop and I still made a mistake. I went against my own "rule" of never buying anything without seeing or touching it. This unit was highly rated by *************** so I felt comfortable ordering it. Trouble is that I cannot see the numbers when turning on the unit. They should be backlit or a different color. I dislike this cooktop, sorry I purchased it and cannot recommend it to anyone.

We're very satisfied
We replaced our 20+ years old calrod cooktop (I think that's what it's called) with this one because we wanted an efficient, quick responding cooktop. And it has met all of our expectations. It lets me quickly boil water and lets me quickly reduce temperatures for a simmering sauce without worrying it will burn. The only downside I have with this cooktop is self-imposed. I clean it after each use with the cleaning creme that came with it. Although it isn't required, I've been told it's the easist and most efficient way to keep it clean.

Elegant and efficient.
Had it installed by Sears just yesterday so I have only limited usage and experience.. It is an elegant and well-allocated cooktop. Seems to heat up immediately and responds to the variable heat settings well. Wipes clean with soap and water. So far no problems and no issues. I like it very much. ZRP ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I had given my initial impression on first acquiring this cooktop. Now that I have used it for about two months I have nothing but raves to add !! It heats up instantaneously and evenly. It has infinite choices of heat settings and plenty of plate sizes to work with. To top it all it has a clean, elegant design. Higher priced brand-name cooktops may have added bells and jingles but I doubt they function any better. I am very pleased with my choice of this item...(and I had done a lot of research before having it installed by Sears). ZRP

Kenmore electric cooktop is a quality product
I love this cooktop. It's much more powerful than the one it replaced in my kitchen. I've only had it a couple of weeks but I have no complaints. I especially like that it heats up quickly and lets you know when the cooktop is still hot (after cooking). We've purchased several Kenmore appliances over the years, and are very satisfied as usual. Salesman was very knowledgable, price was good, delilvery on time...no complaints!
