Kenmore Elite  30'' Electric Double Wall Oven

Oven has nice features and all works well EXCEPT to bake cakes, brownies or cookie bars! The bottoms of items get charred to a crisp, while the top and middle is on the undercooked side. Tried Bread/Cakes feature and normal bake cycles. Repairman was out. He calibrated the oven temperature lower, and said to preheat oven 20 minutes at least. Didn't help my problem, as items still continue to burn. Fiddled with different pans, lowering temperatures, decreasing cooking times, and "baby sitting" everything that gets baked in fear of it burning. End results still vary from being too raw or burnt on the bottom and/or edges! Second repairman lowered the oven temperature again and recommended putting an empty cookie sheet on the lowest rack while baking. To pacify him, I attempted that. Had to keep adding time to the baking time now. One recipe still came out raw even though it looked perfect on top and bottom. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS OVEN!

Great product. I am using my oven almost everyday since the installation. Just love it...very quiet... and fast cooking on the conventional oven. The sales person was great...the installation was great...the product is great. Very happy with the whole process.

Purchased this about a month ago (4/1/13). Works flawlessly. You need to read the manual. If you don't you will be confused and think that the oven is not working correctly. Don't hesitate to purchase, you will like it.

This oven is wonderfully large and fits my large cookie sheets easily. For company dinners everything fits in both ovens easily. BUT the level of the racks are either too high or too low which allow for uneven cooking and the need to constantly move things around if using both racks. The overall heating is uneven; hotter on one side than the other, causing me to have to rotate items in order to have them cook evenly. Broiling always sets off the smoke detector two rooms away and takes hours to clear the room of smoke! Finally, the humidity that builds up while using this oven has caused my cabinets above to discolor. One MUST back away when opening the oven doors in order to not get burned by humidity. And how can I get food that drops behind the glass cleaned out?

We were impressed in the catalog with the durability and the price point. However, it took two service calls to get the temperature settings somewhat close and we still have to rotate items to get even baking. This occurs on both conventional and convection baking.

I love this oven. I previously owned an LG double oven which had some problems so I figure I'd take the time to upgrade and boy am I glad I did. This oven cooks incredibly evenly time after time and I love all of the features that come with the elite version.

For the most part, the oven works just great as an oven. However, anything with any moisture, left uncovered, will completely fill the unsealed window glass with steam. This steam will remain for up to five days. But in the meantime, the moisture settles down in the bottom and turns into some sort of white goo. Then this will eventually turn to a rust color. You can't see your food through the steam, so the double-lighting system is pretty useless. And the bacteria that fills the inside of the doors is disturbing. I've been told by techs that this is normal and how they've always been. Funny the salespeople don't mention this "feature." I'm having a door set replaced, but they say this is cosmetic and my 5-yr warranty doesn't allow for cosmetic problems. Apparently a door in a food cooking device, filled with molds and bacteria, is only considered cosmetic... And the tech service is horrible. They got days wrong, add dates I didn't. And only have 30 days to schedule.

I have had this oven for 6 months now and I cannot say enough about it. Everything I bake in it comes out incredible. It looks great too. I highly recommend it. It is also incredibly quiet. My last oven was very noisy.

I am a long time customer of Sears and have purchased many Kenmore products. I also purchased a Master Protection Agreement and am glad I did because this unit had been nothing but problems. The oven has not functioned properly since it was purchased. The technician advised me not to use the self cleaning feature because it would burn out the heating element, which it did. I was also told that after the unit reached the desired temperature I should wait 20 minutes for the internal temp to stabilize before putting food in the oven. It has required numerous service calls and parts have been replaced four times. I have missed many hours of work waiting at home for technicians. The entire experience has been extremely inconvenient and frustrating. Sears is finally replacing the oven under their service contract. Buyer beware... Do not buy this oven!
