    Great unit, does even more than we thought, fit the space too! June 30, 2011

    This Kenmore is everything and more we've come to need, want, and expect from the Kenmore name.

    My old unit literally died. So the search began for a new model. We had our list of what we needed, self-cleaning, timer, rotating microwave tray, big enough for certain foods and pans to fit, and preferably stainless steel. After weeks of comparing we ended up right back with the first model we picked out online, the Kenmore.

    It is stainless, needs little wiping, has the features we wanted and fit the space with only a modicum of adjustment. It was installed in less than 30 minutes and we have been cooking up bunches of things after weeks of deprivation! It is usually quiet, though we are getting used to the cooling fan sound the old unit had one but we'd forgotten the sound! It heats quickly and has great front setting buttons. We now have microwave settings my 30 year old unit never dreamed o such as "Add 1 Minute"!

    It is a great unit and after 6 weeks I have NO complaints about it. I recommend this unit!

    Upside:

    looks nice

    Downside:

    Sensor does not work

    Fan runs forever and is very loud

    Microwave button is cheap lightweight plastic and sometimes does not release the door at all

    Is wider than advertised

    I was super excited to get this new oven, but am very dissapointed to the point that I am considering returning it and somehow getting my 30 year old beast of an oven back. It had it's own problems, but when you spend $2k +, you expect higher quality.

    Purchased this unit because I was replacing my old unit which was a 14 year old GE combination oven/microwave. Love the old GE but the microwave finally died. I failed to check the reviews on this unit and purchased it based solely on the price - half off. Good looking unit but the fan for the oven runs throughout the entire cooking process and continues to run at least 20 minutes after use. Because my family room is next to the kitchen you have to turn the volume way up to hear the TV over the fan. At first I thought the unit was malfunctioning because the fan immediately started running after it was fully heated. I had the warranty service technician out for another reason and he confirmed that the fan is loud and runs consistently throughout the cooking process and after you shut the oven off.

    Microwave is great. The oven is loud. Its loud when baking and loud when cooling and is off. Its attractive and functional. The whole experience of getting it installed was a nightmare. I took two days off from work to get this unit installed and when the installer arrived it was 5 pm on a friday and he scratched and dented the hardwoods in the kitchen. He was alone handeling a 200 pound unit. Our claim still has not been resolved. Bottom line I would recommend the product but would find my own installers.

    I was replacing a 30 year old Jenn Air that finally broke down and after reading all of the reviews, I was hesitant to buy this wall oven combo. I didn't have the money to buy the electrolux or jenn air that I really wanted but nonetheless needed a new one so having bought Kenmore in the past, I thought I would take a chance and purchase the extended warranty due to the negative reviews. Although I have only had my oven installed for two weeks, I have to say that I it has met my expectations. I miss my convection oven that was in the Jenn Air but I knew I would going into this purchase. The fan on this Kenmore shuts off in I would say about an hour after cooking long meals and I have cooked a roast that took 3 hours! I also have had no problems with the microwave door as others have complained. It does take a little longer to pre-heat but it looks great and my electrician found it easy to install. I would recommend to a friend, especially if you can get it on sale.
