Reviews almost kept me from buying. Do your research!
I recommend anyone looking at this oven to do your own research and make your own purchasing decisions. Some of the reviews almost kept me from purchasing this oven. Paid for the professional install. Installers said its the heaviest wall oven they've ever installed. Not that it means everything but nice to know this isnt an oven with a lot of cheap plastic/low gauge metal. We're very happy with the oven, I've done everything from microwave popcorn to roasting a prime rib. Here are my personal thoughts: 1) Learn the oven. Read some directions and learn how to use it properly. These new ovens are not your mother's ovens. 2) Take the reviews with a grain of salt. I'll dispell some of the myths/incorrect comments on the reviews that bothered me enough almost not to purchase. "It can't even microwave popcorn" - Read the directions and you will know there is a plate to place on the turntable. Once the plate is there, you are golden. We finally had perfect auto-sensed microwave popcorn. Our old unit burned the popcorn every time! Microwaving popcorn does not make an oven but it sure was nice! "There is no element on the bottom of the oven making it cook unevenly" - False. There are 2 (I think 3 actually with the convection on) elements in the bottom oven. There are specific no-no's with newer ovens that older ovens didn't have so again - need to read up. "No child lock when cooking" - This is true. The electric child lock will not work when the oven is on. Probably a liability to have an electric lock active when food is cooking. What happens if there is an electrical failure and the food catches fire and you can't open the oven? Only option would probably be those old mechanical sliding locks I guess. 3) This is a nice oven, we are looking forward to cooking lots of holiday treats in it! We baked the best cookies ever vs our old oven the first week we got it. Only downside I find to this oven is the small display clock which I cannot read from across our great room.

Kenmore Elite Electric Combo oven
My second attempt at writing this.....purchase the maintenance agreement.. I have owned this less than 30 days and I have had a repairman out twice and have a third appt scheduled. The accent light went out...whole front panel needs to be replaced. When the repairman arrived and changed it out, he discovered that the speaker did not work, (worked 15" earlier when I used it). Must have been damaged during examination of changing of panel, now waiting on computer board. What happened to quality workmanship?

Fabulous appliance

Replaced my GE profile unit with this one. The difference is night and day. Probably the best oven I have ever owned. My wife loves this unit and would probably divorce me if I got rid of it.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Awesome so far

We needed a larger oven, so decided to replace with this combo unit. Luckily, my cabinetry worked with limited modifications to house this 217 lb unit, but make sure you have it ready for the delivery folks when they arrive or have two strong folks ready to lift it into the space. So far, it has operated wonderfully. We love the controls all on top with the touchscreen feature. The microwave runs well and although some complained about the exhaust fan, it did not blow my hair off and by simply touching the "Stop" button, it stops. We like all of its features. The oven has lots of room and with the element out of sight (below the oven), it is cleaner and provides additional space. My advice to folks is to read the instructions - then it will run great and meet expectations. It also looks great. Congratulations to the designers; it's a great product.

Best Cooking Ever

Before this I had a Kitchenaid combo wall oven. That one was purchased over 12 years ago. Technology has improved a lot. What is really neat is the SPEED that convection cooking gives you. Great for everything from pizzas to turkey. Things seem to cook in about 60% of the time--and so evenly. The micowave oven is also a convection oven and the lower convection oven is also a regular oven. Do read your manual and use the meat probe for roasts and turkey. Happy cooking!!!

Alot of money- Not alot of quality!

I have my oven for almost a year now- I've had to have the service technician out, only to find out that my complaints are "normal operation". If someone pays almost $4k for an appliance, I expect it to exceed my expectations- FAIL!! The blower on the oven/microwave doesn't shut off at times - "normal- just hit start and stop again and the sensor will kick it off". The oven POPS while warming up, baking and cooling down- "normal- all metal has to expand and contract when heating up and cooling down". I've owned a lot of ovens and NONE of them have ever popped while heating or cooling. The oven cooks a little hot, but that is a simple adjustment. I would not buy this oven again. I like the look of the oven in my kitchen, but not the performance.

Kenmore Elite Combination Wall Oven

I had researched this oven quite a bit.  *************** had rated it as one of their picks.  I was a little concerned after reading some of the other reviews on this website, but decided to go with the *************** recommendation.  I'm so glad I did.   I just had it installed and it looks great.  I haven't had any problems with the microwave, it pops popcorn better than my old microwave and heats food just fine.  I've tried out the conventional bake conversion feature when I baked cookies.  It worked wonderfully.  I baked 3 trays of oatmeal raisin cookies in 10 minutes and all were perfectly cooked.  It's going to make holiday baking a breeze. The instruction manual is easy to read and understand.  It's early days yet, but I'm very happy with the purchase.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Metal tray for Microwave?

Having an issue with metal tray that came with microwave slipping off turntable and arching (sparking). Other reviews similar. Somehow glass tray received for these customers but after multiple attempts Sears has been of no help.

Kenmore Elite 30" Electric Comb. Wall Oven

We do like the outside apparance of this micro/oven, easier to keep clean than a stainless steel refrig. We had a temp. control problem w/first unit, and unit was replaced. We have found the control panel itself much too small to read and very crowded. Too many features to figure out. Poor instruction manual. Convection oven does not bake evenly, and top convection oven does not work at all, just the microwave. We also find the blowing air from the fan on the micro very annoying. Fan runs too long, ie. you warm your coffee 30 sec. and the fan runs 2 min. Fans are loud and long running. (outer cavity fans) We have found it helps to leave the oven door cracked to decrease the running time. I wanted to learn to convection bake and can find no recipe adjustments or instructions anywhere. Even people who use them don't have the needed information. This unit was an upgrade as Sears did not have the unit we wanted. We are very disappointed in this oven/comb. and would NOT recommend anyone buy it. There were no reviews when we bought and wish we had just waited for the model we wanted instead of this poor upgrade?? Posted on May 13, 2012

Looks great, works great, one minor annoyance

We love the look and functionality of this microwave and oven combo. We've been using it a week now and the only thing that I would change is the beeping of the microwave. It beeps 3 LOUD beeps when it's done and keeps beeping like that until you open the oven. I'm used to one remidner beep, so it's a little annoying. Would be nice if you could change the beep settings. Otherwise, we love it and have gotten tons of compliments!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Blown away by a Gale force wind.

While this unit is pretty to look at, and has lots of features, it has one design flaw that makes me wish I hadn't purchased it. The microwave fan produces a gale force wind straight into the face of the operator that can be felt all the way across a very large kitchen. It will literally blow your hair back. I called the technician who said it is working as designed. I hope that Sears comes out with a deflector to direct the wind away from the operators face. Right now there is nothing. Even cheap microwaves don't have such a problem. I would have expected far more from a Kenmore Elite and far more from a unit this expensive. I do not recommend buying this unit.
