    Worth every penny. March 06, 2009

    My last disposal was a Kenmore with an in home warranty. It failed just before the nine year warranty ran out. Called Sears and they sent someone out right away and replaced my unit. Sears warranty service is awesome. I have a new unit and a spanking new seven year warranty (nine years is no longer offered). The high end disposers (induction motor, self reversing) will LIQUEFY a whole banana, a whole orange, a whole potato...even a peach with the pit or a whole avacado. I have four kids and I will never buy another brand of disposal or waste my money on a machine without the high end features.

    Installed a 60559 model with a five year warranty.  It lasted 5 1/2 years and the little piston that makes contact with the limit switch to start the motor started sticking and wouldn't return to it's original location.  So, the disposal runs fine, it just won't shut off.  A shame to have to pay for a new one because of such a small part.  Seems like a design flaw.  I will try the Insinkerator model to see if it has a longer life.

    I purchased a kenmore disposal for $225.00 and a month later it started to crack and leaked water. I found out the hard way that there is no warranty. I will purchase the insinkerator. Seven year warranty.
