Gorgeous Kenmore OTR Microwave August 27, 2010

Have had mine about a month now, and I love it. Easy to use, quite, removable glass turntable. Removable rack for dual cooking. Feels well made, love the easy to use key pad. Some people complained that the lighting was too low even when turned on high. I like mine just the way it is. I rarely used the bright hood range light before, except when cleaning. I use this one for soft ambient lighting in the kitchen, gives a nice look to the granite countertop. Has one a little brighter that I use for cooking. Some complain of the vents being at the top where it blow on cabinets. Mine causes no issues with this, it does vent at the top, but I barely feel any exhaust, and I just had new painted maple cabinets put in, so I am glad this is not an issue. It is no louder than my small countertop micro I had before, so the noise level is normal to me. I would buy it again. Stainless is easy to keep clean. Black glass looks classy with the stainless. Bought a matching Kenmore smooth top convection oven to go with it.   Will repost if any issues.

Disappointed in Purchase March 04, 2010

I bought this microwave 2 years and 2 months ago and it is now in need of repair.  It makes a hum noise (like it's still running) when the door is shut.  We were going to have Sears come out and look at it, but they charge $120 just to come to your home.  I didn't think it would be cost effective to pay the service fee b/c by the time you add labor and parts I assume it would probably be over $200+  to repair.  We plan on taking it to a local appliance service person that you can drop it off and avoid the in home service fee.  When talking to a repair person on the phone, they said that it sounds like the relay on the main board and the part cost between $75 -$150 (depending on model).  I was further disappointed in ALL of Kenmore's microwave hood combinations after reading most of the models are having problems within the first 2 years.  If we do have to replace it, we will buy a different brand, even though all our other appliances are Kenmore.

Kenmore 30 in Microhood Combination is all it was made out to be May 10, 2010
    By AustinHealey of Janesville, WI
    Pros:
    Attractive and rich with functionality.

I found the experience in purchasing this product to be enjoyable, with knowledgeable sales help that made me comfortable with the decision. The product performs exceptionally well and fully meets my expectations. The stainless steel with black trim is an apealing addittion to our kitchen.

I performed the installation myself and it proved to be a breeze.
