quick reference sticker would be niceI have been looking for a built-in microwave for several years to fit below the island countertop. We had always placed our current working countertop model in the "hole" and waited for it to die. It did finally. I looked at the Sharp micro-drawers, but was never sold on the drawer design, it seemed smaller inside than a normal microwave.
I saw this model at the Sears Outlet in Stainless for 60% off and bought it. It didn't work after I installed it, but Sears was very prompt in fixing it (I purchased the extended warranty too) and It was up and running with a new panel.
I love the easy of lowering the door, much like a conventional oven. No latches or buttons to hit, just grab the handle and lower it. It's very roomy inside and accomodates everything we need it to cook.
We use the "quick minute" button like most people and simply press it to gain the time needed. You can also turn the knob to select heating time down to the second. The knob will also let you add time while it's cooking in case you mis-judged, like popcorn!
The defrost works better than any other micro I have used and defrosts without over cooking. The only challenge is knowing what you are defrosting because you need to associate the food type with a number setting, something you will need to reference in the manual. It would be nice to have a quick reference label for this.
We reheat leftovers all the time, boil water, cook baked potatoes all with ease. There is an internal fan that will run afterwards (like with potatoes) if needed. Some find this annoying, I do not.
Construction is quite solid too. I was never a huge Kitchenaid lover (other than the mixers), but this product works great and compliments our Thermodor appliances.
I am delighted with this purchase!

worked well for a year and a half then stopped cooking . called sears service center and a repairman came out promptly. Had to order the new magnatron so we were not able to use it for about two weeks. It was covered completely under sears warranty and now works great again. Except for the inconvienence, I have been totally satisfied with the Kitchenaid built in microwave
