Everything I Need
I took ownership about two weeks ago, and I wanna tell ya, this range is rockin'! I'm canning, cooking, baking, roasting - and this baby keeps up with everything!
I got the stainless & black model...I studied ovens a long time before I decided on this model. I wanted the coils because we can a LOT and I'm more secure with coils, and I wanted a convection oven for all our winter baking needs - and as I said on top, this baby delivers.
So now I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and everything in between...
The price was almost too good to be true.
To sum up - good product, good price, good golly I am one happy cook!

Do not purchase this stove.
I purchased this stove becuase I loved that you could get a coil top with self cleaning and convection baking for a reasonable price. Unfortunately, when I turned it on to boil water the stove top and sides became so hot that they burned me. We tested the tempreture and the top got up to 200 degrees with only one burner on. I can only imagine how hot it could get when I had multiple burners on. This is clearly not safe. I obviously don't want to get burned every time I cook, but I was especially worried about our 2 year old son getting burned. So we called customer service and they thought that it just might be a "bad" stove and decided to swap it out with another one of the same make and model. That one got just as hot as the one before it. Which leads me to believe this is a manufacturing issue. They should be using a better metal on top or a different product to edge the sides of the stove. Don't waste you time buying this stove.

Decent modern unit
The top surface does get very hot but I've decided it's easy to live with. My initial reaction after the first time was that the heat was unacceptable. In everyday use we rarely put anything on the surface between the burners. I'll notice the heat only if I deliberately press my hand down there--and there's no reason for that. Otherwise, it has a nice feature set for a modern range. We knew we couldn't find a unit that was as rugged as our 25-year-old GE. I don't like the short design life but when all modern ranges are like that (at least if you want the old-fashioned electric four-burner top) this had all the features we considered important without senseless extras.

Very low quality material
Look nice but the material used to build this range isn't worth the price that I have paid for this unit. The top of the range is so thin that you can not put anything on iot. Cook a pot of water sit on the coil and the top sink down when you remove the pot....the top pop up like sound like someone shoot a gun. Regret to buy this product....I have always love Kenmore product but not anymore...maybe this was made in CHINA. bad bad materia.....!!!

I'm not really impressed with the quality of this range for the price.The oven is hard to get the racks adjusted to keep from burning the food. I had rather have a range with out the convection oven and all the extras, but they are hard to find anymore.

A Good Choice
I ordered this oven (white model) -before I read the reviews- in February 2013. I have not found the reviews to be completely accurate. This stove/oven is not any hotter to the touch than my last electric range. I find it cooks things very nicely. The racks in the oven are sturdy and like others have mentioned, I love the ceramic coating on the racks and drip pans. I have yet to use the convection component. I would gladly recommend this oven. By the way, the new oven smell dissipated after one use.

Kenmore P.O.S. DO NOT BUY!!
We only had the stove 1 yr 7mo and now the are going to replace it after 4 service calls since it was 7 months old. Same issue each time the control swiches were arching and you could smell the burnt plastic behind the ****. Best coil top they said...YEAH RIGHT, Fire hazzard is more like it. Cheaply made was looking for stove to can on and as told by sales rep. coil-top way to go, this is one of the best simple stoves great to can on. Got talking with repair man and said gas stove ONLY for canning because of the heavy duty burners and a big NO on coil because how cheap they make them now it can bend the burners and cause issues. If it weren't for having the service pln and them giving us a credit for a new stove we WOULDN'T going back.
