Kenmore 30" freestanding Electric Range

We decided to replace our aging oven and found the Kenmore on the Sears website. The stainless steel design with the black glass top suits our kitchen perfectly. The oven has a double fan convection which is great for cooking, and the warmer burner on the stove top is great for keeping your gravy warm while finishing the vegetables. Also having the warmer drawer on the bottom is good for keeping items such as pies and buns warm while the rest of the food is cooking.

The oven is huge and the temperature has yet to vary by even 1 degree. Set it at 350, and it stays at that temperature for the entire cooking time. The turbo boil is great when you are in a hurry, and having the 3 sized burner is great for varying size pots or pans.

This range was rated number 1 by a trusted group, we couldn't agree more. Simply the best value range in the market today with tons of features that you can't find on most ranges in this price range.

Highly recommend it to anyone looking for one.

Kenmore elite Electric Range
Only 3 years old. 1st year loved the stove, 2nd year the main elelctrical lug connector block melts and almost caught the house on fire, this was a $30 replacement part and I repaired the stove myself. Today the main control circuit board go's out.. another $165.00 for this part, which I have ordered and will replace myself. If I had called a sears repairmen it would have been over $300.00. My opinion is this stoves five electronic circuit board are just to many electronic gadgets for a stove, and each of these circuit board cost over $100.00, plus the repairman charge.

New electric range works great

Replaced a 22-yr-old electric coil-top oven with this smooth top for a vacation home. Tested all cook-top elements, baked a cake, and 3 quiches. Everything turned out great. Haven't had to use the self-clean feature yet so can't comment on that.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

**************** Says #1 Range in 2011 - disappointed

My decision to buy this was based upon the **************** #1 rating in 2011.  The local Sears store did not have this on display, but the good rating convinced me to purchase this range without seeing it first.

The construction is okay, perhaps it could be a little more durable.  When pressing the buttons on the control panel it seems to flex or move too much, maybe this is a sign it could be more more durable or solid.  The door on this unit was okay, but compared to comparablly priced ranges it did not seem to be as solid.  Maybe this just difference in the hinges or the weight of the door.

The control panel could have a better design with less buttons---this is not a computer keyboard.  Less is sometimes more.

The big let done was the cooking performance with a large variation on oven temperature by about 100 degrees from the settings and within the oven.  It's advertised as being able to bake cookies on 5 racks or 100 at one time. I don't think that is possible since baking on just two racks at once time had poor results in this unit.  Cooking time was much longer than expected and in the end resulted in only being able to cook on one rack at a time.

Perhaps this unit was a lemon or it simply is not as good at baking as advertised.  The **************** baking test is to cook on two racks for evenness and browning of cookies.  The issues with baking alone were the reason I had this for only a couple of weeks before exchanging it for a Samsung range.

The bottom line:  after just three weeks we had Sears do an exchange, and the very next day (a Sunday!) they took it back and replaced it with a different brand and model.

Extremely disappointing and unreliable oven

When we purchased this oven we were excited at the design, especially the large oven. Owning this oven has been a nightmare. It is the most unreliable appliance I have ever had. The control soft keys have failed three times and the oven is less than two years old. We are not hard on appliances and expect more from Kenmore. Service has been less than easy to deal with and we were just informed that the oven must fail at let four times in a year for them to CONSIDER replacing the unit. Ever time the oven fails it's a week without being able to cook. This lack of reliability along with the less than stellar service has caused us to loose confidence with Sears and their products. Last week we went out and purchased a 65" 3D TV and Sears was not even considered. Look elsewhere.

The Kenmore Electric Range is AWESOME!

I bought a kitchen full of Kenmore products. After 16 years of wear and tear my GE Profile appliances gave up the fight. After weeks of brand shopping we decided to go with the Kenmore Elite appliances. I could not be happier with my pieces. The refrigerator hooked us and its wonderful - but my favorite piece is the range! The turbo boil is awesome! As well as the keep warm eye! Love them! The oven is the best I have ever used. Even cooking is the key to these appliances! And operating simplicity is a plus!!!

Thanks Sears for a A+ product!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
