Stunning Kenmore range/convection oven
Went into Sears with a budget in mind for a new range. I knew pretty much what I wanted, found this one, which included the convection oven in my price range, as I had already decided convection was not a priority to me. Black top is nicer than my last Kenmore in that it is almost solid black, and very beautiful. So pretty , I almost dont want to cook on it. I like the fact is it self cleaning, no heating element in the bottom to clean around. Even temps, easy electronic controls for some things and manuel knobs for cooktop.Does not feel cheap, like some products being produced today. Very happy with it so far, had it about a month. Stainless if very easy to keep clean. One thing I don't like is the crevice at the edge of the cooktop where it meets the stainless, kinda catches crumbs, but just requires a llittle more attention to how you clean the top, it easily comes out. Warmer element in center of cooktop, and two size burner front right, so a total of 6 elements.

So far it works great. I think the oven needs to be calibrated but instructions are not showing a way. Bought a oven temperature gauge to check. Black top a bit hard to keep clean. Clean it everyday whether used or not. Looks great with other stainless steel appliances.

If I could give zero stars, I would
Incredibly uneven heating! I tested it with an oven thermometer and there were hot spots, with a difference of up to 50 degrees! It's an unfixable range, and less than two years old. It will infuriate you if you bake with it. The cooktop is mediocre at best, too. Sears ripped us off on this one, and we'll never buy an appliance from them in the future. Their customer service is no service at all.

Great stove/hard to keep cook top clean.
This is the 3rd smooth top stove that we've owned and is absolutely the hardest to clean the cook top. We've owned the cheaper brands and though they didn't have all of the outstanding features as this model, the cooktops were MUCH easier to keep clean. Aside from that this is definitely the best electric stove we have ever owned and are happy with the purchase.

So far, so good.
I have baked several times so far and am getting used to the convection feature. It seems to take a little longer than my old range to preheat. The things I have baked have baked very evenly. One thing I don't like is that the metal area around the top of the stove gets hot when the oven is on. The oven door on the outside stays cool, but if you are standing at the stove and cooking you have to be sure you don't lean against the edge of the top. Love the top, seems easy to clean. The drawer is a little smaller than my old range, but I was able to fit most of my pans back in. The timer is great- nice and loud. I like the feature of being able to add another minute with just the touch of one button. I would recommend this range to anyone who likes to bake.

I love this range EXCEPT for the oven taking a long time to preheat. I wonder if i'm doing something wrong? Also, I got the all black & it's a booger to keep clean. Shows every fingerprint & greasy spot. I'm constantly wiping it.

Absolutley love our new stove. Cooking and baking are becoming something I enjoy. The convection oven is wonderful. I actually cooked two pizzas in 8 min. Would highly recommend this oven.

I've only had it a few days but I Love it! The burners get hot fast like a gas stove, I like the red glow!! was surprised with that one! They cool down slow you have to watch that one with kids the light that stays on to alert you is nice though. I think the convection oven is going to be great just a little getting used to it.( but the rhubarb crisp I made was awesome!) Enjoy it! I know I will!

Kenmore Electric Range is very efficient
Our new Kenmore Range has lots of bells and whistles that make cooking very efficient. Fast heating and immediate temperature adjustments. Only downside so far is that the knobs are difficult to read. Numbers could have been bolder so you don't have to lean over the stove to see them. We have only had it a week, but it seems to be a winner.
