    Kenmore Electric Range August 26, 2010

    This stove is a very good appliance.  The only issue my family has with it is that is seems to take forever for the oven to preheat, even to a temp of 350 degrees.

    Other than that, this was a great purchase and one we'll treasure for a long time to come.

    WARNING- this oven presents a burn hazard during cleaning cycle! April 09, 2010

    Having previously owned a Sears electric oven, we decided to purchase this oven in 2008. At that time, the priced was fair and the customer reviews were good, it was a simple cooking device with some nice features, but as we have since discovered several shortcomings! First, the cook-top surface is extremely flimsy. My previous oven's cook-top was very sturdy and made much heavier. The cook-top deck flexes with the slightest pressure during cleaning and bows when heavier cooking pans are placed on it- poor design. Secondly, the front door vents allow spillage to enter the interior of the front glass, thus requiring front door dis-assembly for cleaning. Finally and most problematic is that during the cleaning cycle it emits a very strong odor and the entire outer surface and control panel get hot enough to present a burn hazard- very unsafe. We would not recommend this oven for this reason.

    burn hazard, burn hazard, burn hazard!!!

    This is my second stove I have bought from sears. The first stove lasted over 10 years. Boy I loved that stove. This range is the worst I have ever dealt with.

    1. The back right large burner will not cook on anything but HIGH temperature.

    2. The stove top gets so hot in the middle that you can't get near it, or touch it. My husband said it is cheap thin sheet metal they used.

    3. Do not put anything heavy on the top that might remotely scratch the paint.

    4. The oven POPS when it is cooking.

    5. The paint is wearing off of the cook top.

    DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT BUY THIS!

    Don't Buy Simmer Select Option, Have to replace simmer Board March 02, 2010

    We bought this stove as mey Wife fell in love with the simmer select feature. Have only used a few times and the simmer select board went out Part # 361429301 For $ 25.74. was able to diagnoss and repalace myself or I would have had to pay a service call and labor. Like the stove other than that. Have had it about 3 years, but only use stove about 3-4 times a week.
