Fast heat with the Kenmore Elite freestanding induction range

The cooktop of the Kenmore Elite 30-inch freestanding induction range uses induction technology for near-instantaneous temperature changes. A magnetic field heats pans instead of the cooktop. Because the cooktop stays cool to the touch, the glass surface is easier to clean. The cooktop has four elements ranging from 6 to 10 inches.

The Kenmore Elite freestanding induction range has an extra-large 6.1 cubic foot self-cleaning oven. The super-spacious oven can hold up to four 12-pound turkeys and three pies. The oven has true convection, which uses and fan and a hidden third element to circulate heated air throughout the oven. As a result, your dishes will cook faster and evenly.. You can monitor the temperature probe in roasting meat without having to open the door.

Kenmore Elite 30 in. Freestanding Induction Range
I love this range! My first test was to boil 6 quarts of water in 5 minutes. It took the same pot 15 minutes to boil on my old electric range. The stove top and oven operate easily and as published. I have had to adjust some of my cooking habits, because waiting on the stove is not in the equation now. After working all day, less time in the kitchen is a good thing. My advice to anyone buying this range is to immediately perform the 2 hour self-clean function (open lots of doors and windows). We have had this range for almost 3 weeks and have been suffering with out-gassing fumes every time the new oven is used. I finally read a help desk blog giving advice to run the self-clean cycle. We did and it worked. It would be nice if Kenmore would publish this in the manual. If they had, I would give a rating of 5 stars rather than 4. Note: When using my iron skillets on this stove, I use a piece of parchment paper or a paper towel under the pan to insure no abrasions on the glass top. It works like magic through the paper.

Exclusive AirGuard system virtually eliminates unwanted odors
Our range is now about 2 years old. One of the reason we purchased this range was the AirGuard system, needless to say it does NOT work. We?ve had Sears service come out for two things on this range, one the AirGuard and second it takes forever to get up to temperature. The Tech told us BOTH are working correctly??? We can live with the Oven taking a long time to get up to temperature (350), just turn it on 10 minutes early solves that problem. But the AirGuard does NOTHING, the entire home upstairs and on the main level pick up the odor of what?s in the oven. I can leave the house jump in the car and discover I now smell like whatever is in the oven! The strongest spice we cook with is ?onion power? the odor in the oven fills up the entire home! We thought by getting the AirGuard this problem would be gone, it?s not, it still stinks up the house and us when we leave. Don?t waste your money or buy this range or any ranges with AirGuard it doesn?t work )-;

Kenmore Induction Range

We think our Sears Induction is good. It was great the first year. After a year and an expired warranty, the burners one by one began to make a buzzing sound. The higher the setting the louder the electrical buzz becomes. If it had remained quiet, I would have rated excellent. We love induction cooking, but the noise is distracting.

Review of Kenmore Elite Induction Range Model 97203

Absolutely love the induction. Works great. However, the oven is another story. The oven preheats to temp, but when product is put in, it never recovers.. This is a catastrophe when baking cakes or bread. Second visit by repairman yesterday, we will see. Calibrated oven and will replace sensor.. Very disappointed with this appliance.

This range does not come with a broiler pan.

It is a nice range. I love how fast things cook. The oven seems slow to heat up, but once it reaches temperature it works fine. The one gripe I have is that the range did not come with a broiler pan. I had to send $25 for "Shipping and Handling" to get a five piece "Gourmet Pack" that took 6 weeks to arrive. The items were not as advertized. There was a bent item that did not look like the promised roasting rack at all and it did not fit into the broiler pan. The cast-iron searing grill also did not fit the broiler pan but looked serviceable. The boiler pan insert was a beautiful blue graniteware piece. The broiler pan itself was grey graniteware and very dirty. It was obviously not a match for the other items it was supposed to work with. The skillet was reasonably nice, not the best quality, but serviceable and undamaged, though not worth $25. Plan on keeping your old broiler pan and skip this worthless "offer."

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Review of Kenmore Elite Induction Range Model 97203

Replaced 1979 Amana Radar Range Cooking Center with an attached microwave on 27 Nov 2012. We really like this Range; works as advertised. Extremely versatile having all sorts of oven cooking & baking modes. Did have a problem with a smell when using the oven initially even though followed the directions that came with the Range. Manual specifies to heat the oven at 400?F for 1 hour before use to eliminate odors from the oven; heated the oven at 425?F for two hours before we used oven for cooking with the Air Guard on during initial burn in & during subsequent use of the oven. Still would get some odor when using the oven. After one week of odors from the oven, set up FLEX CLEAN using the defaults (3 hours at the default temp) with the Air Guard turned on. Had to open windows in November to get rid of the terrible odor first 2.5 hours. Oven no longer produces odors with Air Guard on. Great Range for cooking on top and oven cooking & baking. No strange noises from Range.

Heats water great but terrible burning plastic smell 6 mo later

We bought this stove after hearing from several friends with other brand models how much they love their induction ovens. We read the reviews, and went ahead an purchased it in May. It was installed in July and while the induction feature is FABULOUS and it boils water almost on demand, the stove, 6 months later, emits this TERRIBLE burning plastic almost electrical smell. I cook a LOT, and it leaves me with headaches and the house smells like burnt plastic for at least 24 hours everytime I use it. I can guarantee, had I known this about the stove, we would not have spent this kind of money on the stove.

How will we tell people when we sell our house we want our range

I am not really seriously thinking about taking the range as we can always buy another when we move but our range is now 2 years old and I LOVE it.  It takes no time at all when cooking on the induction top and spills are easily wiped up without fear of burns.  The over takes as long as the others I have had to heat up and I have found that preheating may take just as long as setting the oven but the conduction feature is great.  I do a lot of baking and all my stuff comes out perfectly cooked.  the only problem we have had is that once when a pot boiled over the water must have eaked into the housing for the digital clock/times so we cannot read the numbers as some are missing "parts"-although the time continues to work.  We had an old (1930's) 36" range and looked for a long while before finally settling on this one.  No matter what we bought it was going to be expensive since we had to deal with the matter of filling the 6" but the shiny smooth black top gave me an idea and I had our carpenter install 2-3" wide openings on either side topped with a counter height covering of shiny black formica.  The level of the range sits about 1" above our existing counters so it looks like it's all one piece with a "floating" top.  I cannot find one bad thing to say about this range!

We have a maintenance agreemnet so plan to have the timer problem fixed and then it will be "perfect" again.

A great appliance that is fast, efficient and easy to operate

We did a lot of searching and came back to Sears for this purchase. Their price, on sale, was very competitive, especially for the features offered. It is a wonderful addition to our kitchen and makes it a more efficient place to prepare meals.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
