I purchased a Bosch washer as well as this dryer about a month ago and have been very pleased with how it works. Clothes are fluffier and softer than I got with my old washer/dryer, so that was a wonderful surprise. And I really like the fact that the unit will continue to tumble occasionally for probably a half-hour after the clothes are dry so that the clothes don't get wrinkled from laying the dryer until you take them out. I'm still learning the ins and outs of the various temps, etc. The Delicate cycle, for example, really produces very little heat, so I don't recommend having very much in the dryer if that's what you need to use. Now to the stuff they might not tell you (because they don't know) when you're buying the unit. First, I want to say the sales woman who helped me did an amazing job for me. She did so much research and had everything ready when I came back the next day, including doing price-checking with other stores in the area. (Did I say sometimes it's good to leave and make an appointment to come back? Thanks, Tina.) Because fewer 24" units are sold than the wider 27" units, the sales people don't always know the "quirks" about them. This is what I now know about this dryer. First, the door opens in the opposite direction of the washer and there's nothing you can do to change that. Bosch does not make a dryer that opens the same way as the washer. Kind of stupid, if you ask me, since most people will probably stack these units (though they're fine as side-by-sides too). My saleswoman honestly thought it could be switched in the warehouse, so delivery was delayed until she called the Bosch rep and was told no. Second, you need to know what kind of 220v plug you have on your wall -- does it have three prongs or four? Newer buildings have the four-prong outlets, but older buildings (like mine) have the three-prong outlets. The dryers come from the manufacturer with the four-prong plug. So be sure your sales person is aware of that so they can write it in the special instructions pertaining to delivery so that the warehouse guys don't try to tell you it can't be switched. They are supposed to switch out the whole cord and plug right at the back of the dryer before they deliver it to you, but supposedly it must be a certified electrician who does that. In my case, no one did it until they got to my place, then they tried to tell me it couldn't be switched, but it was highlighted in yellow on the delivery sheet. Fortunately one of the delivery guys was also an electrician and he changed the cord quickly and seemingly easily. This dryer has the same quirk as the washer. You have to turn the knob to OFF to make all the lights go out after you're done with your last load. Annoying at first, but now I'm getting used to it.

I bought this model because it fit in my cabinet. The permanent press cycle is useless - even after multiple times through on extra dry my t-shirts weren't dry. The regular cycle works fine, except it rolls my sheets into a large ball so the outside drys fine but the inside is still damp. So, multiple runs through again to get them dry.

looking for energy savingsWasher plugs into dryer, which is a great feature if you have electrical constraints. Both units work great!

looking for energy savingsWhen my husband purchased the washer and dryer, I wasn't sure it was right for me. He surprised me with it. I did not think it would fit in our bathroom where it needed to be hooked up at. He did an awesome job installing them, it is a great machine when you can stack them on top of each other. I would not trade these for anything else in the world. They are easy to use and easy to get the clothes in and out of, we have limited space and this means the world to me. They get aall of the clothes clean and dry, and our electric bill never went up from the use. The dryer is on top of the washer and they are so easy to us.
all about designWe've had the Bosch Axxis stacked washer/dryer for eight years. Couple minor problems with the dryer over that period . . . two service calls, total cost about $150. Washer died so we're buying another pair.
