The Frigidaire laundry center holds a lot of clothes. June 10, 2010

I replaced a 20 year old Kenmore water-saver washer and gas dryer. I originally wanted a stacked washer and dryer but the front load machines were too deep for my space. So I chose this unit even though I thought it was meant more for small apartments. I was happily surprised to find both washer and dryer hold as much laundry as my old machine. Not only that, but it works really great. No kidding, my clothes are whiter and brighter than before. 

I love the gentle motion on the clothes. The washer is super quiet. My only complaint is the buzzer. It is very loud, can't be deactivated, and goes off every ten minutes four or five times before it quits. I guess that's a good thing if you're at the other end of your house. I dry the inner seal with a towel when I finish a load and leave the door open for a day or so to avoid any possibility of mildew. I haven't had a problem so far. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I would never buy a washer or dryer that is not from Sears November 11, 2009

My last Kenmore dryer lasted 35 years, and I fully expect this Frigidaire to last just as long.  Clothes dry quickly, never wrinkle or burn. The lint catcher is easy to clean. I always say "Solid as Sears!"

We bought this for our new house and has worked GREAT! It's a great space saver, and you can really fit a pretty large load of laundry in the washer and dryer. This is energy effiecnt and our electric bill is super cheap. Washes clothes great and gentle, and dries them in half the time a normal huge washer would. The only downfall is the buzzer that tells you when the laundry is done is super loud, but who cares. Love this set.

Perfect solution to smaller laundry needs August 19, 2008

I bought this laundry center about three months ago for my new house. I have a laundry closet for a regular washer/dryer set up, but I preferred this stacked unit to free up half the space in the closet. So far I'm extremely happy. It's by far the quietest unit I've ever owned, especially the washer. The dryer is perhaps a little noisier than a unit that sits on the floor, but not by much. Yes, the buzzer is awful. But, you get used to it. I love the smaller capacity drum which is just perfect for me. For one or two people, or a small family, this unit will be fine. I can wash a full size comforter in it. Installation is really tricky so I'd recommend you not try to do it yourself. In some other reviews I'd read, people complained about problem such as "funny pounding noises" or "thumping" -- these problems are due to improper installation! The unit comes with several bolts, bars, and styrofoam blocks packed inside it which need to be removed before use. When they finally removed the stabilizer bolts, all was fine. Also, you need to SAVE the stabilizer bars and bolts and re-install them if you ever need to move the unit. The only thing I think is a bit cheezy is the soap dispenser drawer - it could be sturdier. (For this reason I rate quality only 4 stars. ) I use a light touch when I open and close it, but it could be manufactured to more robust standards. Also, the dial that sets the washer function spins freely before you set it to start the water flow--odd because the same is not true for the dryer control. I'm not sure if this is a flaw or not, because the dial does operate the washer. I looked at a couple of these units on the showroom floor, and all had this similar flaw. Shows some lacking quality control. But all in all I am very happy with it. I'm VERY happy I chose this one, and not the regular top-loader laundry center I was considering. (and BTW, Sears HE Oxy laundry soap is the best bargain going.)
