    Love It! September 23, 2008

As we shopped for a new washer and dryer, we laughingly made fun of people that had nothing better to do than watch their laundry as it was washed and dried. We wondered why anyone would want a washer and dryer that had glass panels in the door. Well, due to the sale price when we went to get another washer at Sears, this one ended up being almost as cheap so we bought the ones with the glass panel! I love them. At first, I wasn't sure about washing my clothes in so little water. I have two young boys that get VERY dirty and a husband that has dirty work clothes daily. Our clothes always come out clean. I even throw in ones caked with mud and have never had to rewash anything. Some reviews mentioned clothes getting tangled and being wrinkled. I don't have that problem. I take them out of the washer and into the dryer. They are less wrinkled coming out of the dryer than they were with my old washer and dryer. We bought the extended warranty but have never had to call the repair man. We have had the washer and dryer set for over a year. I do no less than 5 LARGE loads of laundry every week, usually more. I am still amazed at how many pairs of jeans that I can wash in one load. Occasionally it will become out of balance when washing bedspreads and quilts and I will have to readjust, but it never happens with clothing even those large loads of jeans. I am completely satisfied with this set.

Kenmore's used to last forever - Not any more October 19, 2007

In my lifetime, just about all the appliances I've owned have been Kenmore brand. They have lasted and lasted and lasted with little to no problems until I just wanted a new one. I purchased this Elite Oasis washer/dryer combo with no extended warranty just over a year ago. Who needs a warranty! It's a Kenmore right? I have a lot of laundry with a family of 8, and I was amazed by its features and efficiency. When these machines are working they are super and make quick work of my laundry piles with ease! My clothes get cleanreally clean and they dry quickly as well. The problem is with the quality of the systems and their durability. Over the last year, we have had the technicians to our home for repairs 3 times! We also repaired a broken hinge ourselves once. Until now, in my entire lifetime I've only called for a Kenmore appliance to be repaired 3 times; and then calls weren't even for the same appliance. Currently, I have been without my washer now for 2 weeks waiting for parts to ship to me that cannot be shipped overnight apparently. When I asked the technician that came to determine the problem about these particular models, he said that he has had to work on all of them meaning every single system sold to customers in our area. I did finally have to purchase the extended warranty, of course it was after the regular warranty expired and I paid a premium price for just one year. I have also discovered that the warranty does not cover all the costs. The electronic panel which has to be replaced again costs almost $400. With that huge cost and the cost of the other parts and labor, I will still end up paying an additional $155 beyond the cost of the warranty for this last repair. These washers are not inexpensive. So far, my total cost of ownership is approaching $2000, and I've only had it for 16 months. I'm disappointed in Sears and Kenmore for not standing behind their product better. This washer could be great if the quality and durability issues are fixed. I would highly recommend waiting to purchase this model until Kenmore has all of the technical kinks worked out. If you must purchase the product, then be sure to get the longest term extended warranty they have and be prepared to haul your laundry to the nearest laundry mat a few times a year. I want to have faith in this brand's continued quality, but this particular product has me doubting if Kenmore is still the brand I thought it was.

Looks nice, washes terrible! October 03, 2008

I've had this washer for about 2 1/2 years now, which is plenty of time to see how this works. Pros: 1) washes large loads 2) has many cycles and features Cons: 1) clothes don't come out clean. After washing clothes, I can still smell the perfume I was wearing when I wore the shirt. Plus, my husband has armpit stains on lots of his shirts b/c the machine doesn't get them out. Not to mention you can REALLY smell his deodorant on the shirt even after it has been washed. If I had to do it over, I would buy a cheaper washer, that actually washes the clothes well. Something more simple. My advice...don't buy it!

It's a piece of junk. I have never own a washer and dryer with more problems right out of the box. If for some reason you do end up with one of these things be sure to get the extended warranty but be ready to wait for weeks to get a repair man out to look at it.

I hate this washer, tears up the clothes, they are always tangled up together, wrinkled to the max. I love hanging my clothes out on the clothes line to save money on drying, but sure can't do that now. Do not even think of purchasing this washer, you'll spend more money on new clothes!
