Kenmore  3.6 cu. ft. High-Efficiency Top-Load Washer - White  ENERGY STAR®

I purchased this model and felt regret ever since. One star is too much for it. The biggest problem is its key feature of low-water wash technology, which decides the water level you should be using, no good way to change it. Because it decided to have low water for the wash, cloth will have dry spots here and there, meaning some spot never get washed. Whatever part of cloth does get washed, the lint and dirt concentrated in the water, and do not get removed easily, leaving dirty patches on the cloth at the end of wash. Also due to low water, the powder style laundry detergent won't work properly, leaving white residues on the cloth. I somewhat resolved this problem by changing to liquid style laundry detergent. Still, over time, I found out the washer can only take 6 dress shirts "at most" per wash. So do get fooled by the capacity it stated (3.6 cu.ft.), it is meaningless. DO NOT waste money on this washer. DO NOT buy this washer.

Don't buy this machine! This is THE WORST washing machine I have ever owned. I follow the USE AND CARE guide to the letter. Clothes do not come clean. Washer leaves redsidual soap and bleach, causing many items in the following load to be ruined due to bleach spots. Clothes come out with stains that were not on them when they were put in to the washing machine. The machine is rough on clothes and often tangles clothes. Heavy single items (like queen size cotton blankets) always end up "unbalanced" so the machine starts to spin but then stops spinning, refills and empties MULTIPLE TIMES, until it balances the load enough for spinning. This is NOT efficient and is a total waste of time, money and energy. I would NOT recommend this machine to ANYONE. In fact, it will end up in a junk yard some place, but until its paid for, I'm stuck with it. Can't wait to get a different machine.

I bought high efficiency top load washer 13 months ago and it sucks. My clothes comes out dirty and wet. I paid over $ 600.00 for this product that's suppose to last me a long time and that's suppose to be a very good product. Apperantly Kenmore can not stand behind their words. I have never been more disappointed in Kenmore product. When I buy an expensive product I expect it to work and last me a long time. Its hard to save money in this economy and now I have no washer and my money went to waste. I will never buy Kenmore product again.

This product is absolutely horrible. Might as well have bought from a cart in the mall that closes up shop after the holidays. Months after the warranty expired, this washer has essentially stop cleaning clothes all together. Even on the "bulky" setting, after running several 'CLEAN WASHER' cycles, and even with the 15$ detergent the reviews here mentioned might work:clothes are not cleaned. Beyond frustrated and enraged that one of my initial, substantial investments after purchasing a new home as a young couple only lasts me a year. Shame on the company and shame on Sears for selling this fly by night product. I will never again buy a Kenmore product and never again buy from sears. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

We have had the washer for two years and are satisfied with it when it works. We have three adults in the house and aren't very demanding of the washer, but I just had to order a pulley for the gearbox to replace it for the second time! It is a nylon pulley that should have been aluminum. The part number is: W10006356, and I'd suggest having one on-hand, along with the lock nut that secures it, as soon as your warranty expires. The Maytag it replaced worked for 27-years...

4/11/13 Awful washer, would love to give it back & recommend new design. I've had it 6 months & it's my 1st & maybe last Sears washer. It does not clean clothes, leaves soap residue on clothes, vibrates terribly when spinning, noisy & I don't like slanted top. Overall, nothing good to say about this machine. I've read the book, watched the video, tried 4 different HE detergent brands in addition to meticulously measuring detergent & had a service man to check it. Service says to run it on bulky load with a 2nd rinse for best results & vibration is typical. He also mentioned hearing my complaints of this machine many times before. He is sorry but there is nothing he can do about it. So with 6 full wash cycles available, only 1 is useful & adding a 2nd rinse to all loads is definitely not energy or water efficient & a load takes 73 minutes if I don't run a 2nd complete cycle without detergent. Unfortunately I didn't read reviews before purchasing set.

This washer rocks! It replaced my old Kenmore Series 90 washer and compared to my old washer it cleans better and is far less noisy. My children now leave the washroom door open when I'm washing and I never hear complaints about noise. It even removes stains that my old washer couldn't touch. I was concerned after reading some of the reviews it received but have come to realize that these were probably written by users that may not have read the manual. I have not had any problems with soap residue or knotted up clothing that some are complaining about. If you're moving from a center agitator model please read the manual or check out the product video Sears has posted online before using it.

First of all I have owned this washer for about 18 months so I believe that I have used it enough to write a realistic review. I do see this washer is pretty much love or hate from the reviews, but I do believe you will like it much more if you watch the video that Sears has about the suggested operation of the washer. The biggest thing if you have to load it right. Don't just throw your clothes into the washer. You have to load it just like you would an old fashioned washer around the outside edge. I also find that loading heavier items on the bottom of the load and lighter on the top helps even more. The next thing I have found is that liquid detergent seems to work better then powder with this washer. With that said so far it has been reliable and has done a great job washing my clothes. I am not a mechanic or a farmer so maybe you are better off with an old fashioned agitator washer if you have those occupations, but even my dirty stuff comes out clean.

Water never fills above clothes, always off balance, spin cycle seldom works, washer is 1 year old.

It is nice to save water, but at what cost? The normal cycle leaves clothes high and dry in the wash as well as rinse cycles. Two inches of water for a load of clothes just doesn't work. I initiated a second rinse today and a little water was added, no agitation, and the water was then pumped out. Clothes cannot be rinsed by osmosis. The only wash cycle that "works" is the bulky/sheets setting. All of the rest do not rinse well, if at all. After having a top load Kenmore that lasted 30 years, allowing me to set the water level, this new machine is a real disappointment to say the least. I have no need for 'music' when I hit the start button, pause button. I am there for crying out loud! And all of that clicking while it 'senses' the load is garbage. And why is the lid locked during all of the cycles, not just the spin? I wish I still had my old washer/dryer. The clothes were whiter and without any soapy residue. Kenmore used to be the best, not anymore.
