Maytag replaced 13 year-old Whirlpool June 02, 2010
I've had this machine for 2-1/2 months now and have gotten used to its differences compared to my old washer. My favorite feature is that the control dial may be turned clockwise or counter-clockwise as most of my laundry is washed in either regular or heavy-duty. It launders significantly more clothes than my previous machine, but spins so well that I don't fear overloading the old dryer from my previous set. I really like the automatic water leveler in that smaller loads are washed in the proper amount of water. The soil selector seems to work very well, especially the heavy soil setting combined with the heavy duty wash cycle.

HATE IT- machines with automatic features the USER can't adjust February 27, 2011
What is wrong with the people that engineer the products that we use everyday? Are they not human?
Locking lids on a washing machine which has no agitator to begin with. No ability to MANUALLY select the water level which YOU CHOOSE? Come on. I expected more from technology than this.
My 20 year old dinosaur of a washer with worn out transmission cleaned my clothes better than this brand new, technologically advanced HE washer. Please give me access to my laundry while it is washing and the ability to set the water level where I CHOOSE to set it.
