I love everything about this machine except for one thing. After installing it, I discovered it causes water hammer when the valve lets water flow in at the beginning of each cycle. Its possible that this would happen with any front loader - but it didn't happen with my old stacked washer/dryer combo it replaced. Water hammer is a very loud noise / shaking / vibration / thump when the valve closes and it sends a shockwave through your plumbing. In addition to being annoying, It can weaken pipes over time and do who knows what else in damage. Love all the various features but really only use the normal default cycle for just about everything even bedsheets. If you use tide pods, make sure to throw them directly into the wash tub with your clothes - found out the wrong way on my first use. The regular default cycle is about 48 minutes and when paired with the matching lg dryer, you can finish a load wash/dry in about an hour fifteen minutes. In spins out so much water.

We purchased this washer (together with the matching dryer) last May and have used it in our house for the past 9 months. During that time we have had no problems with it. I love the versatility of the wash cycles, and how easy it is to make selections. I'm surprised by how many of the extra options that I use on a regular basis. I've used non-HE concentrated ALL liquid detergent (smaller amount than cap says) and it's been fine. If you are someone who is concerned with short wash cycles, there aren't very many wash cycles you will like to use. (The efficiency is for water and electricity, not time) If I do large a load on sanitize with prewash and extra rinse, it takes 2 hours but I'm not bothered by that. This machine operates very quietly compared to every other washer I've ever used. I love that they replaced the old fashioned buzzer with a really cute melody so it feel like my washer sings me a song when it has completed its task.

Clothes and blankets are just damp when we take them out to put in dryer. Seems gentle on out clothing yet gets them clean. We are now saving money to get the matching dryer!

The clothes get clean, and the wash water is hot with Sanitary cycle - but the wash times are extremely long. Sanitary cycle about 2+ hours, permanent press 1hr 40 minutes. I really was not prepared for this! But since my previous washer did not get hot water and the clothes did not come clean, I am at least thankful for that! There is lots of water left over in the soap compartments after a load finishes, so you must empty it out each time. Overall, happier, but not happy, but don't think I'll ever be happy again with the current crop of "energy-efficient" washers.

<span>This machine is so different from my old one and has so many settings, it was intimidating at first. But it has been worth the effort to learn how to use and now I enjoy trying out something different. In fact, I wish I had more laundry to put in there right now but everything's pretty clean...</span>

<span>The very hot (steam) wash is a great feature to me because it let me turn down the high temperature I had my hot water heater set at and still get wash water hot enough to kill dust mites and anything else. </span>

<span>On the down side, some of the washes run very long, but it is possible to instead run the quick wash (15 minutes) and just add on extra water or extra rinses. There are so many options. Also, the chime at the end is very silly. I have to figure out whether that can be turned off.</span>

<span>But the delicate cycle is much gentler than my old machine's, and clothes never come out all twisted together. It does make noise, but it's not so annoying (except for the chime!) or loud as what I had. And it saves a lot of water and soap but still gets the stuff clean. It even washes out pet fur from blankets and doesn't leave it all over the inside of the machine (there was some, but not a lot). It has a special magnet in the door that allows it to be closed slightly ajar so the interior dries out between washes. And it has a tub clean cycle that I have not used yet. So I'm optimisitic that it won't have the problem of mildew or odor that some HE machines have.</span>

<span>The install was fine. I have found the most important thing is to make sure installers level these things properly before they leave. If the machines are not level, there will be issues.</span>

<span>I have had this washer and dryer now for almost a week. I love them! My Old Kenmore washer had been broke awhile so we had lots to get caught up on. It is very quiet and gets our clothes clean. make sure you follow the recommendation's on the HE soap and leave the door open for the washer to dry. I also wipe down the door seal after I am all done washing. I have had no problems. Love the magnet so the door is always open and not in the way.</span>
