The first thing I love is how big it is. I can now dry two full loads of laundry from my washer at the same time saving me energy and time. It handles large bulky items with ease. We have a king size bed so all our blankets and comforters are huge. Even my sheets take up tons of space in the wash. This can handle all that without any issues.
The sensor dry cycles took some figuring, but after just a few weeks I have it down. Bulkier items like jeans and towels need the heavy duty and more dry sensor settings. If you pile a lot of laundry in you may want to check the load halfway through and fluff it around to make sure that all pieces of laundry are exposed to the heat. Clothes always get wrapped up with each other as they tumble so the more you put in the more wrapped they get. I get dry clothes every time. Most shirts and slacks will dry fine on the normal settings in the sensor cycle. You might also want to try Dryer Balls, which you can buy at various places. You toss them in with the load and they help keep items from getting all wrapped up together and also help fluff and soften the clothing without having to add dryer sheets. I love them.
The wrinkle prevent option is great for when you are not able to get to the clothes right when the dryer shuts off. It keeps tumbling about every five minutes with or without heat depending on your settings.
The lint trap is huge and I am finding that this dryer is much gentler on my clothes as there is not even half as much as there was in my old dryer per load. It is not cheaply made as some others we looked at.
All the buttons and dials seem sturdy and well made. The door closes solidly and tight. Best of all this dryer is made is the USA!

We bought a new Maytag dryer from Sears a few weeks ago and I am pleased with not only the help of the sales staff on the floor, but also the performance of the dryer. It is way more efficient that my old one and is much quieter. I have to use the end of cycle alarm so I remember it is running! I was hoping for it to dry clothes more quickly, but I must admit I don't know what an average drying time is for new units. Overall, we are pleased with our base model dryer and I would recommend it for someone looking for something in the $400 price range.

See all reviews for this productWe had a maytag washer and dryer for years and years. When the dryer finally went we wanted to stick with maytag but we are very disappointed in the performance. It takes two whole drying cycles to dry clothes like jeans and towels. We just bought a new Kenmore set and are putting the maytag days behind us. They used to be the best but newer maytags are not what they used to be.
looking for energy savingsThis is a fantastic dryer for us. We share the use of the dryer with my daughter and her family (4). They use the dryer more than my husband and I do. It dries really well. We couldn't ask for a better dryer unless , of course it would fold and put away the clothes!!
