I have had this washer and the matching electric dryer for over 6 months. We purchased it in the store and it was less than the price it is listed at on this website. Delivery was great and they hook up. It cleans well enough, and the sensor /water adjuster feature is awesome. It appears to live up well to the energy star rating it gets. So far very reliable. 

*******can twist your clothes into a ball and get unbalanced. but if this happens YOU are loading it incorrectly and review your manual. This happened to me and I did not know the problem. My wife figured it out. I was loading the clothing incorreclty.

Cannot clean cloth diapers so cannot clean clothes! November 09, 2009

My husband and I recently purchased a home in which the washer/dryer were not included in the sale.  We wanted a washing machine that would handle a large load as well as clean dirty cloth diapers.  Upon reviewing the information on ****************, we thought this washing machine was the one for the job.

On the day it was installed, we went to the store to purchase HE detergent and were excited to try it.  We enjoyed looking at the HE way of washing clothes (no agitator) and the sound of it 'taking off' like an airplane.  However, our contentment was quickly thwarted after our first batch of cloth diapers came out smelling soiled and still had soiled stains on them.  BTW, we've been using cloth diapers for two years and have never experienced such an outcome.  We washed these diapers on every option available but the diapers never came out clean.  We even bleached them without success. As for our clothes, they came out of the washing machine with a strong scent of detergent.  We used the same brand of detergent we were using before, just the HE version.

We were very displeased with the outcome of this washing machine so we called Sears. We were told that the machine probably wasn't dispensing the detergent properly and that we needed to call their service department.  To us, this was ridiculous since our clothes were smelling like detergent so the detergent was obviously being dispensed.  Just in the event that there was a problem with the machine, we dispensed the detergent directly into the drum but the result did not change.  We decided to replace this machine with the Whirlpool Cabrio with the agitator.  It has been working well with all our laundering needs!

As a side note, we went back to **************** to determine how they rate the cleaning ability of washing machines.  If we had done this before purchasing this machine, we would have purchased the one we currently have installed.  **************** rates the cleaning ability of washing machines based on how much a standard batch of cotton fabrics fade over a series of washes.  So it made sense that this machine had an excellent rating for its cleaning ability.  Since this washing machine isn't cleaning the clothes, the clothes won't fade!

For another point, what is the benefit of having an HE washing machine (water and energy efficient) if you have to wash your clothes numerous times to attempt getting them clean?  We prefer to do our share in helping the environment by using cloth diapers and washing them in a machine in which they come out clean!
