Great Dryer!! May 31, 2009
I bought this dryer in combination with the matching washer (#48102). I have been extremely happy with it. It has a HUGE "tub" so I can dry a LOT of clothes at one time. It is very quiet. When it runs, I hardly know it's running. All the dials and buttons are easy to read and very accessible. It has a lot of choices as far as the heat is concerned so you can dry delicate items as well as heavy items. It heats up very quickly so that saves a lot of drying time. When the machine cuts off, the clothes are DRY...they aren't damp as they are in some dryers. You don't have to dry the clothes twice to get them completely dry. It is VERY easy to use. The first time that I used it, I just threw in the clothes, hit the buttons that I needed and hit start...the machine did the rest. I never read the instruction manual for a couple of months...that's how easy the dryer is to use. It doesn't take up a lot of space. I have a very small area that I use for my washer and dryer. I have the dryer stacked on top of the matching washer which helps to save space. The manufacturer did a fantastic job in the design. It is a very nice looking dryer and matches the design of the washer. I would highly recommend this dryer to anyone who needs a really good space saver. It is a great deal for the money. I am extremely happy with this dryer.

I bought this set to replace an old harvest gold kenmore set. It is very energy efficient--my electric bill is $25 less a month with this set! Very quick drying time. Quieter than my old set, but that's not saying much. I like the washer better than the dryer. The dryer began to squeak 1 week after my 1 year warranty ended, but it fixed itself a while later. The biggest con is that, like the washer, it can not handle pet hair. I change the lint traps with each use, but the hair piles up all along the door and when I open it, a bunch of hair always comes in my face! I don't have high-shedding pets and this happens even when I wash things that don't seem to have hair on them. There is an annoying second lint trap that needs to be unscrewed with a screwdriver to clean or the dryer will not work. Kenmore needs to address the lint/hair issue and this would be a great product. Overall I like my new set because it was very affordable--I didn't think on my budget I could get something like this, and it saves me money each month. But if you can afford a better set, I would get it, or get the extended warranty.

Maintenance,Non-Durable,rips clothes apartHad to replace the dryer due to numerous repairs and manufacturing defects. Poor Sears service to boot!
Do Not buy Kenmore, or shop at Sears! Spent over $300 on repairs for a $550 dryer only to have to replace it in less than 2 years from purchase- what else is there to say!

It has a quick drying time. It's quiet. I bought this dryer in combination with the washer when it was on sale. It was extremely affordable. My utility bills have substantially decreased! The washer and dryer are stacked so we save so much space.

Noisy,Non-Durable,rips clothes apartWe have had nothing but trouble with this washer and dryer, both units. They both have been fixed many times and the dryer keeps ripping up anything with a strap, all tank tops, anything with a drawstring is ripped out. If there is any thong underwear in the laundry they get ripped to shreds. As many pairs of Victoria Secret underwear this machine has ruined I could have bought a new machine. I will never buy a Kenmore again.
