I had gone to our local Sears store on a Saturday to replace a 14 year old GE dryer that had just stopped working. I didn't intend to spend this much on a dryer but this particular model was the only one in stock that was gas, included a moisture sensor, and they could get delivered by the following Tuesday. So far it seems to be an excellent dryer. We really like the moisture sensor which turns off the gas heater if the laundry doesn't require further drying. Our GE dryer was quiet enough that if the laundry room door was partially open you couldn't hear any noise. This dryer is slightly noisier, we have to close the laundry room door to eliminate any dryer noise. A small inconvenience in respect to how quickly this dryer will dry a full load of laundry from a super capacity washer. Another nice feature is that it includes a laundry rack for items that you prefer to avoid tumbling. Although the specifications state that a power cord is not included, our dryer came with a pre-wired power cord. All in all a good dryer. Now I just need to wait and see how durable this dryer is...hopefully it will be problem free for the next 14 years.

Just had my dryer delivered and tried it 3 times. I first used the jean drying mode to see if it drys quickly as stated. After 69 minutes of drying time on medium high auto jean cycle. The clothes was still damp. The minutes automatically restart if the clothes is not dry. Therefore, I stopped the auto cycle and reset the machine to timed dry mode and added 30 minutes. The clothes was still a little damp in some areas like on waist band of the jeans. It's ridiculous, it doesn't dry completely. Today I tried it again with a mix of shirts and jeans, its been drying on the timed dry high heat mode for 55 minutes and it is still damp. Added additional minutes. My old kenmore of 10 years was way better than this one and quieter too. I wish they made it like my old one. I think it's defective since it should not take this long to dry clothes. Would recommend you search for another dryer like whirlpool. I have a whirlpool washing machine. This kenmore dryer is going back for sure it is defective.

When we went searching for a new dryer to replace our 10 year old kenmore dryer, we did not consider any other brand since the previous old kenmore dryer worked well. We ordered this dryer and it was defective the day they brought it. They replaced it with another new one and it has been 6 months and it is defective again. The moisture sensor does not work well and the cycle restarts again resulting in a high energy bill. The dryer is programmed to dry in 60 minutes or less with a sensor and then it restarts the 60 minutes again for a total of 120 minutes. The clothes are still not dry in some spots. Definitely consider another dryer to avoid problems. Hope this helps.
I bought this dryer to go with the corresponding washer when my old stackable unit started to leak. I was a bit concerned when reading the reviews about clothes not getting dry enough. That's important to me. There are settings on the dryer that allow you to go with less time and lower heat. These may save energy, and may not dry items completely. But there is certainly a "more dry" setting that I think works extremely well. I wash a lot of jeans and towels, and they have come out very dry. Like the washer, the unit is very compact and yet high capacity. The controls are simple to understand and the lint screen is easily accessilbe and easily cleaned. I'm very happy with this particular product and all of my Kenmore appliances (my entire kitchen is also Kenmore). It's a brand I trust for quality.
