    M-B C-Class (W202) December 26, 2007

I've bought/used many DieHards and think I've only had a warranty issue with only 1 of them years ago, which was pro-rated. I just installed this trunk-mounted model# 33349 in a 1999 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, but the DieHard's vent is in the middle of the long, terminals side, whereas the OEM's was in the front on the short, Positive Post's end. A Vent Tubing Kit was included, which consists of a rubber hose and adapter to connect with the car's vent tube, but the Sears tube was not long enough to route around the front of the battery, so it lays across the handle strap until I can splice in an extension. The red, Positive Post cover doesn't fit over the cables like the OEM's battery did, and I had to bend up a piece of the cover to clear the terminal/cable. Otherwise, working fine - hopefully for many years.

Diehard died hard March 14, 2007

Bought a new Diehard. Installed it. Worked fine the first two days, then it died. It went so dead that my electric door locks wouldn't allow me to get in my car to be able to recharge it. Had to get a tow truck to tow it to the dealer. After getting a loaner car, dealer had my car for a couple days while having additional service done, they said the battery wouldn't hold a charge. On this news I decided to buy a new battery from the dealer and return the Diehard. But my attempts to return it failed because Diehard's warranty prevents it. Of course the battery tested good on Sears' 5 minute battery tester so they wouldn't give me a refund. Now I'm stuck with a 50 pound paperweight and am out $130. Thanks Sears and thanks Diehard, I will never shop with you again.

If you own a BMW... February 14, 2011
    via Sears.com
    By Irby of Honolulu, HI

Every DieHard I've bought has been a pretty good battery. Just bought this one, so we'll find out just how good it is. Definitely cheaper than BMW's and they would also charge much more for installation. If you do own a BMW (2005 or later) and you have chosen not to (or forgotten to) have the dealer (or a service center that does BMW's) register the battery or reset the computer, don't get upset when the system fails to properly charge it and it dies within a few days. You can either purchase the tool (Bav Tech tool) or have a service center do it (probably cost ~$25 - $30).

BAD BATTERY WORSE SERVICE November 11, 2009
    via Community Review
    By cazzina22 of Downey, CA

Will pay extra for quality, safety and convenience for family car. I was told that Diehard batteries were good, well then later told that now they're made in Mexico so they're not. My main concern is that my battery was less than 2 years old, car died while on my way to work. Called auto club and got a jump start, drove to Sears, waited 35 minutes in line as there was only 1 guy on working the counter at 2:45 P.M. When my turn comes he tells me that it will be at least 2 hours till they can even look at my car, told him it was just my battery and I was towed and car would not start again, he said it didn't matter. Called husband, he left work to come and remove the battery so that they can exchange it as it was still under warranty and the auto club guy said it had a dead cell and I should not drive it. Stood in line again for another 25 minutes, then we were told that we had to leave the battery for 3 hours for it to charge. Told him this was ridiculous that I did not have all this time in my hands, they would not loan us a battery and said this was their policy.  Imagine, 5 hours just to exchange my **** battery!!! Called the auto club from the front of the store, they got there in 15 minutes with a new battery and I was on my way.  My husband left the battery, which by the way has a dead cell, he put it in a spare truck which we hardly use, so won't know how long it will last again, by the time it dies again the warranty will probably be expired.

Will never, ever buy a battery from Sears again, horrible policy, horrible service. As of today I have left messages for store manager and emails to customer service and no one has answered either, it's been one week....very disappointed with customer service and ****** battery.

I have always had 100% satisfaction using Diehard Batteries. I last bought this Group 49 one (International) in 2002. It is still working. The single time I had to claim a warranty problem (another model), I had excellent service. I have bought 4 or 5 of these for my cars. I rely on Diehards.
