EdenPURE  US1000 Portable Quartz Infrared Heater

I have this heater for less than a year. The heating element no longer is working. I used it Jan. Feb. March packed it away until Nov. and now we are in the middle of winter and it stopped working already. I realize things happen but trying to get this thing fixed is the hassle. Sears does not work on them so you have to send it back to where ever. I don't buy things to be hassled and run around like this so I don't recommend this product to anyone.

Great heater!! It heats our whole downstairs. We do need the furnace from time to time, but it works better than I thought it would.

I have had this heater for only a few weeks. So far it is working fine. I have read that these heaters have a history of only lasting a few months then having thermostat problems. So far it has worked fine. Ask me again in a year. At the current price it will take several years for it to pay for itself.

I bought this heater when my furnace malfunctioned and I couldn't get a repair service in right away. It was to heat the living room + kitchen, an area of around 925 sq. ft. It is now nearly 3 AM. I've been running the EdenPURE full blast since I brought it home around 7:30 PM, and with outside temperatures hovering just above 40 F it has not yet managed to raise the room temperature to 60 F. It's putting out heat, all right, but it simply cannot manage this size room as advertised. It's certainly not worth the $400+ (tax incl.) I paid for it.

We recetnly purchased a Infrared Heater ( some people refer to these heaters as a penny a day heater) We have been very pleased with ours. It does a wonder job in keeping our home warm When we have the heater on - our central heat unit is turned down to a very low temp - we have only had to turn the central heat up a couple of times and that was when we were having windy cold cold temps - otherwise the Infrared heater has keep the house the temp we enjoy it being.

After talking to a Sears associate I bought this product to heat my work office because he said it would heat it. After using it for a day I still had to plug in a second heater to heat the area. I was disappointed after spending this much money on it that it did not heat as expected.

I bought 2 of these heaters 3 months ago. Both never heated the rooms we put it in. It also raised our electric bill $200 a month and didn't lower our gas bill at all. Each room was less then 500 square feet. You really never could feel the heat unless you had it right by your side. If you have an older home with knob and tube wiring, it could heat the wires up so much were it could start a fire. In our house we had wire melt from it. Bob Villa doesn't know what he is talking about. This does not save money and could be a fire hazard. We returned them today.

Having heard of the Eden Pure heater (Made in America) and learning it was on sale at our local Sears store, I eagerly purchased and tried the EdenPure heater at home.  My room was less then half the advertised size that it would heat in an hour.   Sadly, 3 hours later I found the temperature had increased by only 3 or 4 degrees on a very cold night and I still needed extra clothing to keep warm.   Perhaps because I had a stairwell and the heat all rose to the upstairs hall?  I don't know.   After the three days I returned it to the Sears store for a full refund.    For what it does, and does not do, I felt the price is too high though I liked the "cool" top and sides. 

I had heard great things about the Eden Pure, however this one does not deliver.  According to the manual it should heat a 1000 sq ft area to about 72 degrees on the highest setting.  I have attempted to use the heater in a 750 sq ft area on the highest setting, set on auto.  It should automatically turn off when the optimum temp is reached.  The temp never got above 61 degrees in the area and it never shut off.  Also, the manual states that the filter should be cleaned every day.  However, the filter is extremely difficult to remove and can probably be cleaned weekly instead of daily.  Also, the battery included with the remote control does not fit securely in the remote.  I eventually had to tape the battery in place so the remote could be used
