I purchased 2 of these Craftsman Infrared Thermometers. I used them to determine the temperature of the inside of my Sears refrigerator. It showed a temperature of 55 on one of them and 54 on the other. I called Sears Repair service and requested service on my Sears refrigerator still in warranty. The Sears repair man used his infrared thermometer to determine the temperature of the inside of my refrigerator to be 35 degrees. He told me my infrared thermometers were defective. I returned them to Sears, but they refused to replace them since I did not have my original receipt for the thermometers. Now what do I do?

I've purchased the product for future use and it appeared to be close to the rated accuracy 4 deg F which is pretty high for infrareed thermometers when first checked. When I needed to use it ~ 1/2 year later I've seen it read as much as 6 - 10 deg F off comparing to a Fluke infrared thermometer, that my coworker had, and to Raytek thermometer that was part of the equipment. When I took it to Sears to have it fixed I was told that the $80 product carries only 90 day warranty. What a waste of money.

Easy to useThe equipment worked great right out of the box. It was very accurate and easy to use. The only draw back is the laser only operates after the trigger is pushed, then the operator has to push a seperate button to turn on the laser. This is a little busy, but on the other hand it probable saves the battery (just guessing) Been using mine in a virety of areas, auto mechanics, home and auto air conditioning. Very happy with the product. Priced many other units before purchasing, This unit is comparable in price, but the Sears one year on the spot return policy sold me

I found mine is only about 2 - 3 degrees off. And also mine turns off just fine. Stays on for about 6 seconds after taking the reading then turns off. I don't know what everyone's talking about, (Maybe compertors), but overall this is a good product.
