Great simple multimeter September 20, 2010

I got this for 10 dollars and also the little plug tester thing with a deal about 3 years ago and have loved it! This thing as done all sorts of things for me from electronics, car repair, house wiring! I would love a fluke and someday may get one but I knew that when I bought this and for the price I would buy another one just to have around and loan out. I would recommend grabbing one when they go on sale even if is doesn't come with the plug tester.

Didn't work May 17, 2010

Everything on this model worked but the 10A range. The fuse was good, but the 10A range connecting was dead, bad circuit, even Craftsman tech support agreed with me. I bought a 2nd one after returning the 1st, same problem. I then tried a better model, the 82344, was sad to discover is too had current related issues, I tried two of those as well. Four strikes and you're out Craftsman, trying a different brand.

I have several high quality digital meters and this unit compares favorably. I leave it in my vehicle and it holds up to rough use, storage and weather extremes.. It's accuracy compares very well to my Fluke (a premium brand) meters, which are much more expensive, plus it has many more features. A real winner for a electronic geek and car guy like myself.

Small meter with big protection. Easy access to batteries and fuses for when you forget to read the instructions and wonder why it stopped working. The test leads are of a good quality and should last the test of time. The rubber bumper that encases the meter is thick and easy to hold. Overall a good meter.

Works great. Nice little probe tips. If I had 1 complaint I would say that the continuity check seems could be a more solid of a tone. To me it sounds like it's fading in and out. But besides that it's been accurate.
