My son has been wearing 511's for over 3 years and will not wear any other type of pant or style. I know it sounds cliche, but Levi's are the most durable jeans you can find; and so worth the money. If my son never grew he'd never have to get more pants as they last forever. The great thing about 511's is they are great for most lean body types, have a touch of spandex for memory sake and are the best looking. No bagginess and not skin tight, just a good fit all around. You can also tailor your size because you choose waist and inseam for the perfect fit. Because of the spandex, you get a true size with NO shrinkage. I wash these on cold, normal dry and for the most part they keep that brand new look. You can also wear these casually or dress them up with loafters and a dress shirt. They also come in so many colors and with a variety of fade treatments

inferior to the 511's July 18, 2008
if you just started wearing tightish slim fitting jeans, these are alright. but if you'd like jeans that are tight everywhere, go for the levis 510 super skinny model. they hug your calves, thighs, and have a super small leg opening of 13 inches. i would suggest the levis 510 over the 511's.

Wait for a saleI've been purchasing these for my, very picky, 13-year old son for about 18 months now. He is tall and fairly slim (5'10"/130 lbs.) and isn't a fan of baggy pants. These are a great fit between "skinny" for him and "not looking like they were painted on" for me. Plus, they last and don't fade all that much (he likes dark jeans) so I can hand them down to his brother. I've always been able to buy them on sale because the thought of spending $60 on jeans for my teenage son kind of kills me. Also, he grows fast! I know there are some who think I'm crazy for buying these for a "kid" but he likes to look a certain way and as long as we stay on budget I'm all for it. That said, he doesn't rotate between 10 pairs of jeans and 30 shirts.
