product needs a better point from which to manually empty the water collection bucket

Nice appearance, variety of settings, runs fairly quiet

Our machine worked well for a week and then it would not run. The repairman came today. The hose we purchased to feed the water to the drain was not a good purchase from Sears. It had more bends and was not allowing the water to drain. Also the repairman said the switch was not engaging. We will see how long it last. I did buy the 5-year warrenty but if it does not work again, we will return it to the store.

So far I really am pleased with this purchase. The real test will be in the summer when the humidity goes up. Purchased for the basement. I won't comment again unless I find it not to operate efficiently come summer.

Purchased this unit in Dec and its been used daily non-stop since then. Its not noisy and very easy to empty. I use it in my back bedroom (about 12x12) which has a high humidity compared to my other rooms. The first day I had to empty the unit twice just to pull out all that moisture. Now, a few months later, I empty once a day in the evening. This unit is best for a smaller size room and not for a whole house job, you would need a bigger unit. I also bought the extended warranty on the recommendation of the clerk. At the end of the season, you can take it in for service which is included in the plan and have it ready for when you need to use it again later in the year. Love that!

runs very quietly

This Dehumidifier is what you need if you have dampness from Sandy to remove from your home. We bought two and placed one in the front of basement and one in the back and it worked great.

I particularly like the side venting. No longer have to have the unit away from the wall. I have purchased three of this type of unit over the years. Each purchase has resulted in a better product, bettr design and performance.

We had an older dehumidifier in the basement that worked but I could not program it to go below 45% humidity. Folks that came over and my wife noticed a musty smell in the basement. My poker buddies told me I needed a better dehumidifier. I did some research and went to Sears near my house and picked up this one. We could not be happier. I unpacked it and plugged it in and got it working 3 minutes. I set it to "continuous" mode. It has been running around the clock for the past few weeks. I had to empty the bucket about 5 times. After 1 or 2 days the musty smell in the basement was gone. We are both more than pleased with it. We also like the way it looks. I highly recommend it and I normally don't write reviews.
