The Kenmore dehumidifier is the best purchase I've ever made February 12, 2010
This is a quick acting machine. Easy to use. It pulls about 3 gallons of water a day out of our air. I have no more sinus headaches, no more pressure headaches, My hands, feet and ankles were so swollen you could leave indents in my skin. Within a 24 hour period I saw a dramatic turn around. No swelling. No sneezing. Best of all no "cankles" which is when there's no way to tell the difference between your ankles and your calves. If I'd have known about the benefits I would have purchased one 7 yrs ago when I moved to Texas. If I could give it higher stars I would. If you have allergies........Try it you'll see a difference.

Unreliable piece of junk April 24, 2010
I have a slightly older version of this product and it has been nothing but trouble.
* The first one they gave me came out of the box with the back grille smashed in and I had to immediately return it for a replacement.
* The controls stopped working and the condenser motor had to be replaced after less than a year of operation ($90 repair bill through Sears Service).
* The controls stopped working a second time.
* Sears would not stand behind the product and offer me anything towards a replacement after it broke a second time.
* It's very loud when it operates.
